I am a little more than three months out from surgery and 70lbs down. My surgical team asked me what I am doing to be so "successful" and I thought about it and I decide to post those things here. Let me say this, I know I am new to the game. This post is just to share what I am doing. I am no expect and I am sure there are things I can do better. If you are interested read on.

1. I meal plan. Usually on Sunday I cook for the week. I make my Breakfast dish, lunch, and dinner for the week. I also make Protein Peanut Butter balls on this day as well. It helps me save money and have a better idea of what I am eating.

2. I use children's serveware. This helps me to control my portions and using children's silverware helps me to eat slower and take smaller bites

3. I take my Vitamins daily.

5. When I can I measure my food

6. I try to high protein content foods

7. If I snack I eat a high protein food

8. I add Protein powder when I cook whenever I can

9. I only drink Water

10. When I find a trigger food I leave that bad boy alone!

11. Leading up to surgery I read books and articles about VSG

12. I have a weight loss journal that I write in almost everyday

13. I try to regroup quickly. If I do not well one day I make adjustments to eat better the next day

14. I watch videos and read things on BP that have been helpful

15. When I do not meet a goal I make a new goal

16. I remember when that God has given me a gift and I do not want to waste the gift

17. I take water with me whatever I go

18. I use a high protein cookbook

19. I realize that I have not made it across the finish line and I have to keep going

20. I realize that every month my period vexes my weight loss agenda and then it goes away and I prevail! ;)

21. My prayer partner and I talk about my progress every week and she prays for me

22. I have a surgery buddy

I am sure there is more than I could be doing. My goal is to be 100lbs in three months time. If I am not there you know I am going be smaller than I am now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
