Hi everyone.. My name is Cherie and I'm new here. I found this site tonight while trying to figure out what to expect tomorrow as I am having my surgery early afternoon. I found a lot of great information thanks for the input.:)

Welcome to the site Cheri!! I have learned a lot of things since joining. Good luck tomorrow, Im sure you will do well and everything will go as planned. Check out the thread for people who are getting banned in August, the Crazy Ates :biggrin1:. I am getting banded on August 8th so I know what you are going though. Take Care.

Me too! Having it tomorrow, that is. But mine's in the morning. Good luck, break a leg! (But if you do manage that during a tummy surgery, please be sure to ask them for the full details.)

oooh, there's a thread too. :)!

Hi everyone.. I'm getting ready to leave for the hospital and starting to get mixed emotions on this.. but overall I am excited.

Thanks so much for the welcome and warm wishes.. I'll let you know how things go.

I have no idea how you guys put that little graph thing on here so I'll let you know just by typing...

I'm 242 lbs.. and I'm on my way to losing 100... can't wait!! YEAH!

Hi....all the best.....I was banded on Monday afternoon (July 30th)......I'm feeling great! Only a little tender....and a little tired.....but all and all......pretty darn good........and I'm looking forward to my first fill and getting some of the weight off.......

You'll do great!

oh, i definatley took that advice, i had my surgery 9am yesturday am, and in recovery for about an hour and a half, but i had set my mind on leaving the hospital same day, so i got up got dressed and went to the bathroom, my nurse was like "wow" i cant believe your up and around! i said well, i've had a c-section, and this isnt nearly as bad...they let me rest for a bit i was discharged @ 3:30 and in my bed by 5pm ...still walking quite a bit, TRYing to drink as often as possible..my big pain is shoulder pain..walking actually makes it feel worse, but i know it will eventually help..

BEST of luck to all of you recent bandees and soon-to-be-bandits!!!! I'll be keeping up with you as I get closer to my date (whenever that may be - sooner rather than later I do SO hope and pray!!). It's all very exciting, and I'm glad to hear such positivity. You're each bound (no pun intended...well, ok, maybe it WAS intended!) to succeed!

I had Lap-gall bladder surgery and sure DO NOT remember the shoulder pain everyone is talking about here... wouldn't the two surgeries be similar in the way the "blow you up" with gas?

Still waiting for my bandification....

That's great you are feeling better. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

No I am not a lucky 7 :) I hope to have my band by Sept at the latest. I am waiting to meet w/my surgeon for the consult on 8/13 and @ that time my ppw should be submitted to my insurance company and then I have to wait for their approval before I can be scheduled for surgery. Soon I hope SOON! :guess

dont worry it will be here before you know it! from what i gather i was very lucky, (i'm sure it had ALOT to do with being self-pay) i saw my surgeon for consult on 7-10, nutritionist,& psyh on 7-16, pre-op w/ my gp on the 20th upper endoscopy on the 27th and my surgery on the 31st! it all happened SOOOO fast! like a whirlwind, glad its over (almost) i did have a hiatal hernial i'm hoping my insurance will partially cover hospital supplies or stay or SOMETHING...that would be soooo nice ...but highly unlikley :)
