Post Op Diet help and suggestions??? Please???
Hi all, I'm another week on liquids and then have two more weeks on puree. I'm looking for what you guys ate (drank!) during the liquid post op.........and what you ate during the puree two weeks. I want some variety to make is easier to follow.......and maybe that's not possible...... Now, during liquid stage I'm having soup, protein shakes, SF popsicles, yogurt and jello.....any other ideas? Any interesting ideas during the puree stage? Thanks for your help and support! Caroline

Six Months Later
Silly question maybe.....but could you try the surgery again? I know this might sound silly with such an awful experience.......but i would assume your ordeal is very unusual. All the best

Diet suggestions
I'm only 11 days post op.....so I am by no means an expert.....but in my nutrition classes they were advising to make sure you getting any food.....with such low calories sometimes your body will go into a "survival" mode and think it is staving and hold on to everything. So I make sure that mid morning, mid afternoon and evening that I have a v8, a little yogurt, some Jello or even a little Soup or Protein shake. I never feel hungry and I really do feel fantastic. The other very important point they made was to make sure that protein is a priority/then veges/then carbs.....meaning most calories from protein sources then veges and then carbs. Hope this helps! All the best! Sounds like you are doing great!

Pre Op Question - Needing Some Feedback Please
Welcome and congrats. I am now 11 days post op. You are right everyone is different and some people on here seemed to have a lot of pain and discomfort. My experience was totally fine.....and probally more the "norm" (if you can really say that?)...........I was up walking a few hours after surgery......and taking short 15 minutes walks the next day. Not very uncomfortable at all. BUT....I would with all my heart INSIST if you possibly can to have a friend, neighbour or family member walk with you and to be available to help. I have to say I was quite "tired and a tad shaky" from being put under. After I went for my walk I probally sleep another 9 hours straight and was quite tired for several days......really truly.....you can't be sure how you will feel.....you better be safe than sorry........ All the best and keep us posted........

Band Land finally!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks.....I'm a TLBC girl too.........just 10 days banded now....I'm feeling pretty good.....a little low energy.....a little tired....all to be expected I would assume.....losing some weight.....taking some short walks......doing some journaling.....feeling quite focused........my appetite is starting to come back so I know I have to be careful and stick to the full liquid plan.....whenever I'm hungry I drink water.....there's no damn way I'm spending $16,500 and not be successful......I HAVE to do this.....I am choosing health.....and next summer as a celebration I want to kakak the 100km Humber River.......

totally freaking..... help me please!
I'm 10 days post op. Presently I have about 3/4 to a cup a food per meal (1/2 cup Soup, 1/4 cup Jello, 1/4 cup yogurt). But I eat six times per day. So once I'm on regular food I would guess I would have somthing like this : 3-4 oz of salmon and some mashed sweet potatoes for supper, maybe have some salad an hour or two later...... I drink 2 litresof Water a day........

I don't understand my lap band
Yes.....you need a fill.....my doctor clearly says......if you feel very hungry, get a fill......sometimes it may take a while to adjust your band. But, in saying this.....the band is a tool to help us change our lifestyles........we still need to focus on healthy eating choices.......and excercise......it's not always easy.........but with the band as a tool.....coupled with smart health choices.....along with support from this site and people around us.......we can achieve our goals........ All the best to you........I hope it get's easier in the next short while......let us know if another fill helps........

Eating regular food 8 days after surgery?
Yes, you would tolerate it since you havenot had your first fill yet. If you eat too quickly the dr's say you can hurt the healing process and worse, 'cause a slippage. Give yourself the gift a great health.....eat lquids and soft foods while you should be...... Cheers to your health!! And all the best......

In the land of the living!
I was thinking about you and wondering how your surgery went. It's great you're feeling pretty good. All the best and take your time healing girl!!!!!!!!
