D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C-T Find out what it means to me

I noticed quite a few replies to many different posts being a little disrespectful lately.

Having a differing opinion is one thing, flaming or cursing someone out because they don't agree with you is another.

We are adults here and don't need to be "touchy-feely" and "PC" all the time, but respectfully disagreeing with someone (even in a "tough-love" way) is a better approach.

There were times that someone really needed a response that would have even the filthiest mouthed person want to wash my mouth out with internet soap (probably "Lava" soap, since it has pumice in it), but I resisted. Not because they got over on me, but I decided not to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Granted, some people post as trolls and bait people, they are so good at it they are "master-baiters", but sometimes a non-aggressive response to them is better. They won't get the rise out of you and hopefully they will slither away back to underneath the bridge where they came from never to be heard from again.

No animals were hurt in the making of this post.

  • Fun fact: Respect by Aretha Franklin was the #1 song on the day I was born. Yes, I'm old.

  • (stands up and clears throat) It was my fault. She said she wasn't fat because of what she ate, she was fat because of genetics, so I told her to call her surgeon and cancel the surgery because it

  • Oh wow, I like that... my song is I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash Totally agree with the initial posting. I am shocked (but sadly, not surprised) when someone is so nasty and abusive to any on

@@MrsKarenC2008, the Stones never sang about baking or recipes for flavoring up oatmeal. The song is very Stones, very hot and very rock-bluesy, as is much of the catalogue.

A good companion from a concert quite later on the calendar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXqQh7Y30eg

The 2006 concert on Copacabana Beach, from which the second link comes, is worth watching. Old guys can move. Whomever watches and gets to the segment when Mick introduces the players one by one, you'll see old guys wishing they could die just to be done with the agony of the long night. They did it, though, so there may be something to recommend skinny.

I feel old the number One song on my birthday Wednesday, February 21, 1951 was the Tennessee waltz by Patti page. All I had to do was ask Siri on my phone

I love that song

@@Babbs Every Breath You Take by The Police

Kind of disappointed cause I always thought the lyrics to that song were creepy.

TOTALLY creepy. Stalker song!

But then so is Santa Claus is coming to town...

"He sees you when you're sleeping... He knows when you're awake..."

????

Can I just say how goofy happy I am to see this thread still going? Cause y'all are all awesome.

And Brown Sugar and the Tennessee Waltz and Every Breath You Take and Big Girls Don't Cry and all the songs so far are super awesome too. Those are some GREAT songs there. :D

I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston

Ooooo that's a good one! Although I still like Dolly's version better ;)

Dolly can do no wrong.

Dolly wrote it, so her version had so much more depth and feeling in it than anyone else could. Whitney's version was great for her vocal abilities, but she didn't have the heartbreak and sadness that Dolly put into it. She's still a pistol, too. ;)

Hooray! I thought I was the only one who preferred Dolly's version. Yes...Whitney's vocals are amazing but the heartache comes through in Dolly's version in a way that Whitney's doesn't. I can cry just thinking about this song...much less hearing it.

Le freak by chic???????????? yes I agree with the rudeness, but I don't see it as much here. I recently left a Facebook group, after being attacked over some parsnips Chips I wanted to serve at my daughters birthday party in order to feel like everyone else dipping my chips in some salsa, I was ripped a new one over parsnips.. Who would've thought? BTW 2gm carbs 1sugar and 3gm of protein,& they tasted great!! I was so upset I erased the pic I took of them, what a shame.
