What about swelling around the mid section? I'm noticing it's still very swollen. Anyone else?

Also, ate a sugar free Popsicle today!! Go me to get it all down and keeping it down!!!

I'm still swollen and experiencing pain in my large incision. SF Popsicles were my guilty pleasure pre surgery, now they repulse me. They taste like pure sugar and it makes me sad ????

I have not made an attempt to mix a Protein shake yet because of all of the bubbles. That scares me. Still adding it to chicken broth.

Doing well with liquids except Water, but I am forcing myself

Keep doing it. We are here to motivate each other!

I haven't mixed any shakes on my Clear Liquids stage, figured I will wait for full liquids. I am drinking Isopure Protein Drinks, which have 40 grams of Protein but I can't wait to be done with them ????

Made my fluids and got about 45 - 50 gm Protein. I am thinking that my internal swelling is my limiting factor. I just ran out of time to swallow anything else .

Total of about 350 calories today and feel absolutely no desire to eat, drink, or anything.

Very, very odd.

Starting my Vitamins tomorrow.

HI everyone. I'm late in the game but I also had my surgery 2/9. Everything seems to be going well. Gas pains ate harsh. I'm also having weird heart pains randomly, I'm assuming it's also gas pains but will follow up with my pcp on Tuesday. No bm and I can't feel the restriction yet just stopping when I feel satisfied.

Welcome to our group!

As you guys can see I'm awake as my incisions are causing discomfort. Still have not made it through the night without pain meds to help relieve the gas pressure.

Elsalvador7, sounds like gas. My doctor encouraged Gas X strips as many as I want to help relieve the pressure. The strips dissolve on your tongue. Also, I found walking while sipping really helps to burp or pass gas. I was excited the first time I passed gas LOL.

Hey team. Quick update as weekends around here are a little crazy & everyone else is still in bed.

Since I was only a RNY Revision I don't have the swelling it sounds like everyone here is experiencing. I'm so sorry! Instead I have an extremely raw throat which is bad and good. Nearly constant sipping warm tea makes it feel so much better to that's really helping with Fluid intake.

The gas definitely stinks *snort* no seriously that was kinda rough but I've had 2 solid BMs and the gas has really subsided. I think I'm lucky because I'm really able to get in all my Fluid & plenty of Protein. I got 70g in yesterday and was very proud of my BM this morning LOL...

Speaking of Protein if you can tolerate them Slim fast has a high protein (20g) version ready to drink with only 1g sugar and I was able to tolerate it very well. It was very "low bubbles". The Isopure protein Water tastes weird but it's totally worth it to help things move through my system.

I'm really playing around with the Protein Shakes & puddings today so I'll catch up with all of you later!

Thanks so much for sharing!! I'll definitely get the slim fast drinks today. I agree protein is the key and just adding to warm broth is not gonna cut it each and every day.

Knowing my body, I'm planning to get a little cardio in today. Since the intake is under control my output must increase to maximize weight loss during the first 21 days of liquids. I'm guessing a goal of 2000 steps is reasonable. My Fitbit will keep me on track with that.

Let's keep sharing and helping each other! So glad we are in this together!! I'll check back in mid day or tonight. Happy Sunday!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
