Ack! Only Starbucks for the weekend

Recommended Posts

I usually drink Dunks ... but there are NONE around where we are staying. What's your go-to Starbucks drink?? Preferably hot & caffeine is ok.

tall redeye (dark roast) is my standard. For a treat, tall skinny vanilla latte, tall nonfat flat white or tall nonfat latte macchiato.

I'm on the skinny vanilla latte train. Haven't had Starbucks since surgery, though, because I'm supposed to only be on Decaf, and I don't think that's an option for anything but straight up coffee. ::sad trombone::

Hot dark roast (Italian or Komodo Dragon). Venti size. 5 splenda packs & cream on the side.

I freaking love this.....pre or post gym time.

I buy the Komodo Dragon whole Beans and grind & brew them at home, too.

I was always a Dunkin coffee guy until I had my first Starbucks dark roast. I'll never go back to Dunkin again.

I was wondering if they had sugar free Syrup. I've been craving their hot chocolate, but didn't to ruin my progress. I will be going soon!

@@jess9395, excuse my ignorance, I don't go to Starbucks often & when I do I always order the same thing (tall skinny half caf white chocolate mocha, no whip) definitely a rare treat.

But my question is, what does it mean when you say "dry" & what is a "double tall"? Trying to increase my Starbucks vocabulary/knowledge, lol.

Tall = smallest size cup (actually there's also a short but it's not on the menu). Normally they put one shot of espresso in drinks made for a size tall/small. If you ask for a double tall it's two shots of espresso in a tall/small. A Cappuccino is espresso with mostly foamed milk and a little bit of steamed milk. A latte is espresso with steamed milk and a bit of foamed milk on top. A "dry" espresso is just the foamed milk no steamed milk.

So basically what I order is two shots of espresso in a size small cup with just a little bit of foamed milk on top. The espresso is calorie free and the nonfat steamed milk is about 50 calories no fat and about 5g Protein and 8g carbs from the milk

I get a double tall skinny mocha with 2 pumps of each-sugar free mocha, and add 2 sugar free hazelnut, 2 sugar free vanilla. I also get a tall Americano(which has two shots of espresso and only 10 calories) with some sort of sugar free syrup(I change it up every day)and then add nonfat milk. Play with sugar free syrups-there's 6 main sugar free flavors always on tap and then seasonal flavors as well.

FYI, there ARE 5 calories in each shot of espresso as well as 75mg of caffeine. It's minuscule, but they are in there...

I stand corrected on the calories in espresso! But I'm jealous of your Starbucks! Ours only has sugar free vanilla, hazelnut and mocha. No other SF syrups!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
