I'm looking for a good warm Breakfast idea. eggs don't sit well with me since the surgery I get pretty sick so I want to stay away from them. I have the special k Protein Cereal but I'm looking for something that is warm to eat, and I am not a fan of oatmeal. Anyone have any suggestion?

How far out are you after surgery? What post-op food stage are you on?

You don't have to eat "breakfast" food for breakfast. You could eat anything.

Heat up leftovers, refried Beans. Soup, chili, etc. if you want something warm.

You could also have tea, Protein hot chocolate, etc.

I'm out of the stages. I'm solid food now with trying new things at home just I case. So far everything I've tried has sat with me great with the exception of eggs. But you're right ! Thanks for the advice :)

I like oatmeal, but know a lot of people don't. Have you tried cream of wheat?

I also like Protein pancakes. They can be made & re-heated. Here are some good recipes, but I usually stick to the basic one & add fruit. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/20-best-healthy-protein-pancake-recipes.html

I had a hard time with eggs at first, but I was able to do egg muffins. It is a different consistency than eggs. These are the ones I usually make. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/222586/scrambled-egg-muffins/

And like Surfer Girl suggested ... try non-breakfast foods too!

I have 3 ounces of chicken breast for breakfast every morning. Usually I eat it cold, at work. But when I am at home for the day, I heat it up in the microwave, sometimes with a little sauce of some sort. Delicious, high Protein, low calorie, low carb. In terms of nutritional value, it's very hard to beat.

so I totally get the warm at breakfast time. I would say - stop with the "have to eat breakfast food" at breakfast.

Here are some ideas....

Baked oatmeal - does not really taste like oatmeal if you make it thin.....This is my favorite one from Niki.

http://www.bariatricfoodie.com/niks-fall-harvest-protein-baked-oatmea/

Breakfast stew - I have one with meatballs, canelli Beans and canned tomatoes. Very yummy and warm

How about toast ? (try David's Killer bread - this is the only bread my sleeve can tolorate) and Protein Peanut Butter (PB2, Protein powder and just a little Water to make it smooth).

Protein Cookies - Andrea's Protein Cakery has a ton of protein cookie ideas, these might work for breakfast too.... serve warm with maybe some Syrup.

Protein Waffles - there are a tons of premade protein powers that work great as pancakes or waffles. Mancakes, P28 are my favorite. Or I make my own with Quest protein and baking powder. Check Quest protein blog for recipes. Remember - warm your sugar free syrup.

Hope this gets you thinking.....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
