I am new to this, but I was sleeved November 24, had to stay at the hospital til thanksgiving day due to constant throwing up and not being able to eat. Starting weight was 271. When I went to my 2 week appointment I was down to 253. I don't weigh my self until my doctors appointments because I don't want to become obsessed lol.

I was told I could move to the mushy stage but when I try to throw some new foods in my diet I tend to throw up sometimes daily. I still get nauseous a lot through the day, and the medicine they gave me for it doesn't work so I stopped taking it. I often get abdominal pains randomly through out the day but after reading a few post I see that it's quite common.

How do you guys stay motivated to eat the right things? I often find myself thinking about foods that I can no longer eat lol. I can see the difference in my body already. I know this post is really random but that's just how I am lol.

I'd love to see more before and after pics to keep me more motivated, and a few meal ideas for 1 month post surgery.

I have surgery on 12/28. I am hoping all the pain/vomit/dumping stories will keep me right on track! I found a therapist with experience treating WLS patients so am staying on her schedule.

I sure hope you feel better very soon!

Thank you, I appreciate that! One thing I can say is stick to everything the doctors tell you.

I know everyone's experience is different, so hopefully you'll be fine. Good luck on your surgery

I have this air bubble issue when I swallow air tries to come up then goes down with whatever liquid I'm drinking and then the air comes up very painful anybody else have this issue and have a suggestion?

Now I'm at 13 days post op and it's resolved it got better at about 4 days post op but I was feeling my stomach growling slightly because I wasn't able to ingest enough of the Protein shakes or Water. Since day 4 I have been able to get a lot more fluids down and now I'm starting pureed food and I'm glad to say it's all going down well!

Thank you! The classes the surgeons office hold are amazing. I have a table filled with my liquid stage pre-op stuff and my 2 weeks after of liquid. I even have my hospital stuff on the table! sleep mask, Gas X strips, SF throat lozenges, a pill for the car ride home, my husband's robe, wipes if I don't feel well enough to shower...seriously prepared here!!

Jerica,

I have kept in touch with a lot from my WLS classes and have indeed heard several talk about that issue.

Talk to your doctor first! Most of the girls I heard with this were sipping too fast. One was using a straw even though she knew that was a big no no!

Good luck and keep us posted. I know others will chime in here too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
