Eating 13 days post op

Hello everyone. I am 13 days post op. Im in the liquid stage. I have a quetion. Is 6oz of protein shake too much for now? My dr said my tummy can hold 4oz for now. But im still hungry after the 4 oz so ill drink 6oz then im fine. Im just so scared that even this surgery wont help me lose weight. Im so depressed with myself. I do feel like im losing inches and maybe some weight. I know i just had my bypass done but i just feel so sad and im scared that this wont help me. Thank you for those who take the time to reply.

it's true that your stomach can only hold a certain amount. But if you're drinking slowly, some of the Fluid will have passed through your stomach before you finish the whole 6 oz. Everything moves through much faster now. Just follow the plan, and keep taking care of yourself, and the weight will fall off. I think a lot of people have that anxiety that something will go wrong, or the surgery won't work, etc. But the scariest part is over, now it's all about focusing on your health and healing. You'll do just fine. :)

I understand your fear. I had it too directly post op. I drank an entire mug of chicken soup broth strained of noodles in like 15-20 mins with no problem. I was like OMG my pouch is too huge or I stretched it out or what if I burst it open and all that liquid in my drain is actually chicken broth! ???? I spent a lot of time looking and obsessing about it, but ya know, liquids roll right out the pouch, but when you get to purée you'll physically feel the difference when you eat. I'm on soft foods now and will transition to trial and error full diet on Christmas Eve. Honestly, I can't even hold a full 2oz and I was so worried in the beginning!
