December sleevers

Recommended Posts

I love your user ID.... Imready2015!

I am five days post op and feeling great. I am going to work tomorrow! Thought I would have to take off two weeks.

My major issue is horrible taste in my mouth and bad breadth.... family complaints.

Yesterday I added Greek yogurt, it was a nice change from Protein drinks.

Best of luck to everyone and speedy recovery.

Oh man the bad breathe. I'm glad that isn't just me. I feel like I need to brush my teeth 12 times a day.

I'm so glad I found this post also. I'm scheduled for December 28th TOMORROW and I'm so nervous. Can't stop think maybe I can do this without the surgery or is it all really worth it. I feel really prepared but now I'm second guessing myself.

I was second guessing too but now that it is done (on 12/21) I still think it was the right decision. I have to remember that I have lost weight many times before and always gain it all back and then more. This will be my tool to not do that anymore! My recovery was relatively easy. Gas pain in the hospital but that disipated quickly. Barely used any of my pain medication. Hardest part is head hunger when the rest of the family is eating. We got this!

It's so nice to know that we are not going through this alone. I can't seem to turn my head off I'm so nervous but I know it's the right decision. I've struggled with my weight sense my teen years and always regain it all right back.

Looking for a buddy, my surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec.29th. My first appt. with my surgeon was Dec. 1st, I made a quick decision to have the surgery during the holiday break (high school teacher.) Scared I will not be up and ready to teach on Jan. 4th?

I was sleeved on 12/22. Everything went great, almost no pain. Just some minor discomfort. Activity wise I'm almost back to normal. Just trying to get all my fluids in now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
