Feeling [not so] hopeful ????

Recommended Posts

My next appt Dec 28th is my last visit for my 6 month supervised diet. Its my surgical clearance appt and we'll be submitting everything in for a date.

Part of me isn't even excited anymore. I feel like I'm gonna be denied surgery even though I've met all my requirements.

Does anyone else feel this way?

If that does happen, what processes will I go through to try to be accepted again?

Why do you feel you won't be approved? Did you research all the requirements for surgery and did you meet them? Are you simply causing undue stress on yourself about this?

I am sure if you did your homework and followed the guidance of your surgeon, everything will be fine. I understand being anxious, but don't stress yourself out about something yo

I feel this way! I have completed everything and more that my insurance company requires. It's just that feeling of having everything in my grasp and expecting the bottom to fall out. Is it unnecessary stress..anxiety...fear? Most definitely, but it's real. Ugh

It is a long process and can be discouraging at times. Hang in there! Your surgeon wants you to have your surgery. Even if you are denied they will help you with an appeal. Good luck!

If it's denied. Appeal it. If your appeal is denied then research going to Mexico. I had mine done in Tijuana and it was wonderful. No pain and no complications. Plus I didn't have to jump through all the hoops of the insurance companies. Only cost $4,500 plus air fare.

I felt the same way before approval. I just knew they were going to find a reason to deny me because I am barely over the 40 BMI and didn't have co-morbidities. But low and behold I was approved and it went fine. Hopefully the same outcome for you.

I was worried too, my doctors notes for my 6 months supervised weight loss were pretty much just 6 lines with date and weight. Us I was also barely at a BMI of 40 with no health issues at all. I was approved and given my own nurse by the insurance company, she's going to call me regularly and will help me with any questions.

You'll be fine, I'm sure.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
