New November sleever!

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm Amanda and new to the forum. I'm excited my date to talk with my surgeon is tomorrow Nov 12. I have gotten through my 7 month physician monitored diet. I have been approved by my insurance and my date is set for Nov 30th. I'm so excited. Hope to get to learn a lot from others experiences and make some sleever friends on this forum.

I made it home.. I'm 2 days post open now..doing pretty good so far. Had some soreness in the actually site but nothing past that. Only thing I had problems with was my Vitamins they didn't stay down.. will try again in a day or so again. I'm pretty swollen so I don't have loss to report yet.

I had my surgery November 10 and have been able to eat just about everything in small bites. I am having a problem eating more Protein than carbs and don't know what to do. There is only so much chicken and cottage cheese and lean meat I can eat....Help I have thrown away some clothes but the weight loss is so slow.

Today is 10 weeks since surgery and my weight loss is very slow and I am getting depressed . Made a appointment to see somebody about this but I wonder if anybody else feels the same ?

I had my surgery one week after you. I just came off a 3 week stall and am so excited to be losing again. When you say your weight loss is very slow what do you mean.

I'll be 10 weeks out this week and have lost 39.5 pounds. That 3 weeks of not losing definitely had made a difference. Still it is 40 lbs and my clothes are all getting baggy.

We all drop weight differently. Does your Dr feel it's a problem?

In order to get your Protein in try having a 30g Protein Drink for Breakfast. That should ramp up your protein. I put 1/2 of a frozen banana in my chocolate Premier Protein from costco in my nutribullet with 3 ice cubes and I love it.

Keep up the good work!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
