Getting sleeved in 6 days!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I am very nervous as I am getting closer to my date. The excitement has not kicked in because I am afraid of being nauseated after, the amount if pain I may be in and just a fear that this won't work for me since nothing else I have tried has. Any advice would be great. My current weight is 460 and my personal goal is get to 210 and I am 5 f11i, which I dont think is a bad goal but just worried unattainable

Good luck to you, I'm being sleeved in 2 weeks and also feeling so nervous but I'm just focusing on the outcome and trying not to think about the bad stuff! I'm sure you will do great X

Just remember, this is the best thing that you are doing for your health (never mind your vanity which is equally as important!!!). I had my sleeve done exactly three weeks ago and I feel wonderful. I have to be honest, the day after was a bit grim, for me anyway. The anaesthetic from the op made me feel sick so lots of useless heaving going on. The disclosing liquid from the x-ray to check that the sleeve had no leaks has the effect of giving one's bowels a thorough spring clean so make sure you have the softest of loo paper!!! Apart from that, I was up and about two days after surgery and wandering around the town with my husband. You will find that you feel more tired than usual so listen to your body and get sufficient rest. Nothing wrong with an afternoon nap in front of the TV. I overdid it two days ago by covering six miles during two dog walks but hey-I felt great! Good luck, do as the medics tell you and remember, this is the beginning of a new you.

My high weight was 442, surgery date 387. I'm less than three months post op and I was 331 when I weighed this morning. It will feel like nothing is happening until suddenly one day you look in the mirror and barely recognize yourself. I don't even look like the same person, and I'm less than halfway to my goal. You will get there and you will feel incredible when you do. :)

I'm 12 days post-op, and wanted you to know surgery was not bad. I had absolutely no nausea afterwards. They put Zofran in my iv and I was fine. I was driving and going out in a week. I've not had to take anything for nausea since I've been home either. You'll be fine! Keep us posted. 17 lbs gone in 10 days for me...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
