Something just occurred to me about this. I read it in another thread about how your body stores so much estrogen in fats, men and women. And when you start to lose weight those fat cells dump all that estrogen into your body and sometimes men will get really emotional and have estrogen type side effects too.

So I'm wondering if it's similar to a pregnancy where your body is flooded with hormones for the initial period time, when your main weight-loss is, obviously the first few months and hair can get thicker and longer, and then once that excess estrogen in the fat cells has been depleted there's a drop and that's when for example in pregnant women, their hair sheds a lot after having the baby so I'm not sure if Biotin, Protein, anything could help that short of hormone supplements at that point, which is certainly silly for hair thinning.

I'm 6 months post op, and I had some shedding at around 3 months, but my hair still looks great. Still long, and still thick. And I'm really happy I wasn't one who had the Hair loss issue. That was a fear of mine as well.

My surgery was 8/17 and it started thinning a few weeks ago. I notice it in front but I've adjusted how I style my hair. I will take the thinning hair any day over being 295lbs! Plus it will grow back :)

I was sleeved the same day !! ????

I haven't lost any hair yet ... Mine is so thin as it is ... Oh well what are gonna do ...

I'm 3 months out and noticed my hair has started to thin. I've upped my Protein and started taking Biotin. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's a short falling out period.

At about 4 mos my hair has started falling out/shedding. Every day there is a huge clump of hair in the drain. I have a lot of curly hair, but it's thinner, a weird texture and wispy. I've read it's more about hormones than diet. I'm hoping it stops in 2 or 3 mos. ????

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
