Is this a sign of overeating or advancing diet too quickly?

When I eat certain foods, after I eat I will get a burning pain behind my left shoulder every time I swallow. It was so bad the other day I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital, but it finally subsided. Is it from either eating too much or eating something I'm not ready for? It feels much like the gas pain was described, although I never really experienced that after surgery.

Are you eating too fast? Air can get trapped between food bites if you eat too fast. I know I'm the worlds worst!

Yes, maybe! That's actually a good possibility because the time it was the worst I was eating quickly. Thank you!

No hernia repair, but good advice on the other. I have only been eating a few ounces at a time but I'm thinking it may be eating too fast.

Did you have a hernia repair?

I would slow down, take smaller bites, chew well, and make sure you are weighing and measuring everything.

I had something similar happen to me. Not burning, but more like a pressure pain in my upper stomach area. It is when I eat too fast. I am really bad about that. I am finding that since I don't get as hungry as often, if I have waited too long to eat, I end up eating too fast.

Sweet baby Jesus somebody could have told me how screwed up my post was lol! My brain thinks faster than my little fingers can type.
