Hiya, everyone!

I'm a longtime lurker, first time poster. I wanted to finally introduce myself.

I decided to go with the gastric sleeve after having been diagnosed with cirrhosis of liver, multiple hernias, a bad kidney, gallstones, arthritis, and an ulcer haha that's a lot going for a 27 year old mom. I didn't tell the public that I was having the surgery and other things taken care of at the same time. The only people that know are my fiancé, my mother, and 3 of my girlfriends.

I had my surgery on 10/8/15, a day shy of a week ago. The day of surgery I weighed in at 254lbs. It's been a rough journey, very hard on my body and I've been in a lot of pain. Usually, being a roller derby girl, I handle pain well. It hasn't been the case this week.

I've been suffering from a pretty bad sour stomach and haven't been able to keep much of anything down, but ice chips. Today I was able to tolerate a chocolate Protein Shake. That's a huge step for me!

Today, also, I weighed in at 225lbs. Pretty insane if you ask me.

Anyway, hi!! I'll be posting a lot more often now!

Welcome and nice to meet you. I am glad you decided to post.

Since you have been a lurker, you probably know this site is a great source of information, encouragement, and support.

Were you prescribed a PPI? That might help with your sour stomach.

Just keep sipping. Getting in all of your Protein and Fluid will help you heal as well as lose weight.

It will get better.

Welcome @helladoll.

That is a hell of a weight loss in 6 days!

I hope you continue to heal well and the pain subsides quickly.

Keep trying to get that Protein in.

I was sleeved a week ago tonight.

So far so good except for some incision pain when I rise from sitting or lying down.

I walked for about 15-30 minutes tonight, the first day it was not 100 degrees outside and I got tired quickly.

Just taking it day by day.

it's nice to see some people that had the surgery so close to mine! it's been soo hot where i am, i've just been chasing the toddler and doing the stairs a lot. i don't want to push myself too bad. i bent down yesterday and felt one of the incisions almost ripping. scared me back into place.

Chasing a toddler must be tough. I was told NOT to pick up anything more than 10lbs for the 2 weeks after surgery. I don't know how you are doing this (and lots of stairs!)!

I hope you have lots of support and help. Just don't push it, take it slow and rest when you can.

It's been so hot in Southern California, hope you have been in the cool AC.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
