Anyone heard of Dr. Francisco Gonzalez in TJ?

I have contacted this doctor in TJ and he only charges $7500 for the surgery and has 12 years and 2500 bands under his belt, but I still would like to hear from someone who has been to him.

I still haven't seen anybody mention how much it is for Dr. G. Please let me know thanks..

Hi sleepy give Laura a call 877-247-2263 if Dr G is not in surgery you can talk to him directly, if not his right hand man in clinical management Dr. Valenzuela will give you all the information you need.

Good for you all that are on their way! I'm still doing my research. Can any one that has gone through the first month with the band tell me about their experience with their liquid diet? It sounds easy but I'm not much of a liquid person, I drink very little fluids as it is. So that is the one scary thing for me. Good luck to all and keep us posted!

Please excuse my question but I'm new to all of this and I ran accross this thread, why do you need liquids before the lap band? I keep reading about liquids before, can someone tell me why? I've read most of the posts here and this doctor Gonzalez sounds good but I still don't see why you need liquids before the surgery. Thanks for reading.

Congrats to all newcomers!! Maddy the liquids before the surgery are so your liver shrinks and the doctor has a better view when putting in the band, I also found out it helps to get you used to the diet you'll have after your surgery, it worked for me. I've been doing well, I had an episode of what I've read to be described as "Pb'ing", I may be wrong, but it felt like what others on this forum have described, I got a little worried and called Laura, I spoke with Dr. Gonzalez and he explained it to me, I think I gulped down my lunch a little too fast. I got worried because it hasn't been a month yet. I'm ok now, still losing. I've been experimenting with food and I guess I may have gotten too confident. I may be going for my fill. All that are going to Dr. Gonzalez for surgery soon, I wish you the best and I'm sure everything will turn out very very well, maybe I'll get to meet someone from this board. Love you all!!

I will be flying to San Diego on Thursday! Excitement is the word and I hope everything goes well. Do any of you bandsters have any suggestions as to what to pack, any useful tips? I want this to be a good experience for me I don't like surprises. Gabe are you staying at a hotel? If you are let me know which one. My preop diet has gone so-so, I cheated once or twice and called and asked I was told to stick to it. Ok guys and gals Ill try to post before leaving If not then I'll write when I get back. You've all been wonderful and very helpful. Wish me luck!!!!

hey la-pandit

:cry A couple of weeks ago I remember I came upon a list of thing to bring when you go and have the surgery done, I remember thinking how handy the list was and I saved it ...:) but I dont remember where´exactly ,tonight II´ll look for it tonight and post it for you tomorrow.

B A, good luck !!!! keep us posted:whoo:

I´m posting from the airport ready to leave to San Diego, I´ll keep you all posted!!!!!

Anyone that can help me? I'm calling doctor Gonzalez, but before I do can someone give me what you think are the most important questions to ask. I have notes, but would like some input.

Annie-

I found the list - I did a search for it and found it right away. I am going to today to pick up a few things so I don't have to rush around right before I leave to get the stuff. I want to find a loose fitting dress to wear home. I have a long flight, so I don't want anything cutting into my waist. Thank you!

Hello Lap-bandit ;)

I´m so glad you found the list I know there´s many out there, the only thing is that I already looked for my list and I just simply couldn´t find it...can you tell me where you got it from ?..I know you must have picked one of the best

I´m trying to gather as much info as possible because I know It is a big compromise and a life change decision ,plus I still have about one more month before I can get all the money together so I still have a couple of weeks.

keep in touch :ranger:

Okay Annie -

I think I have the link below. See if it works for you. If not, go to Lap-band FAQ and References on the main page. It is pretty good list....some of the things I would have never thought of....Thongs???? Anyway, you will know what I am talking about when you go there and read the discussion. Oh and by the way, watch out if you are going through one of those finance companies that some of the doctors sites recommend to get your money....I amost got screwed. If you want to know more PM me. Good Luck
