Recommended Posts

Hi, Im fairly new to the site. Thanks to someone on this site I decided to go to Mexico since my insur. wouldnt pay and I was looking at 18,000 in the states. Im excited but a little nervous. Family is "freaking out " about Mexico. If anyone has been banded by this physician, let me know your experience, even if it wasnt good. Everything I have researdhed looks good. Thanks ahead of time and I'm happy to be joining the banded club!

Hi all. I did my research and decided lap-band was for me. I accidentally found the group lap band trip to Huacuz Surgical Center while researching. I thought it would be great to do it with other people, sort of a support thing. I am going to get my band August 9th. I am excited, nurvous, and hopeful. My family has already tried to talk me out of it, but my husband is supportive, so I am determined to do it. Anyone going to be on this trip with me?:clap2::whoo::)

I went on the group trip to Dr. Huacuz in May. Lori was great and made sure everything went smoothly. Dr. Huacuz is really nice and relaxed and I felt totally comfortable with him. The only problems I encountered were a long delay in actually getting the surgery - he had 5 patients scheduled for that day and I didn't go in until 3 am so had been without Water since 6 am the day before. Also, some of his staff including the nurses do not speak English. There are a couple of people who come in and translate but they were hard to find. The whole attitude was laid back and unhurried which in some ways was nice but when you needed something or someone in a hurry it was a bit frustrating. The other ladies I was there with also were frustrated at times. Overall, it was a positive experience though and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Huacuz to my family and friends.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
