Surgery is now behind me, yay! I am so surprised how tired I was. The end thesis took till about midnight to wear off enough for me to get up and walk. I would fall asleep within a minute of waking and I just could not seem to get myself together! The nausea after is the worst! A combo of not eating and the meds left me feeling like I would hurl any moment. But I never did! I just kept sleeping so that I wouldn't have to deal with it.

After about 4 I refused the pain meds because I really was not hurting and I think that contributed to my nausea.

About 11 ish I guess, I got up and walked around the floor. That was a piece of cake! It's now almost two am and I am awake.. Ready to get moving! Lol

There truly is no hunger or hunger pains after surgery which I am thankful of. Should be moved to Clear Liquids in the morning. So far so good guys!

Hello....I am post op day 3. I am starting to feel human today. I only spent one night in the hospital. Came home and went to bed. Only got out of bed to pee. My pain is under control, but I do think I am having some reflux problems. I did have a hernia repaired and the doc told me that may cause some discomfort and to take it slow.

I am starting Protein shakes today. I hope I can handle them okay.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm POD 2 heading home today also found a huge diaphragmatic hernia and repaired it at the same time. Had some issues with gas but tolerating clears just some with ascorbic acid seem to make my tummy burn so I have avoided some of those and stuck to Water and broth and sugar free Popsicles. So far those go down well not so great with Jello yet. So taking it slow. Have had to dilute the Isopure can't have it straight.....they said first week is about hydration so not as worried about getting all the Protein in but hydrating the first week.

(Warning TMI)Has anyone else experienced the Constipation? !? I was doing great! Very minimal pain, able to move and resume light activity. Until this afternoon, I went to the restroom and I am telling you it was 1 1/2 hours of earth shattering pain! Worst feeling ever!! It was so hard and so large that I could not pass it. An enema and a lot of screaming later it finally passed some.. I had hubby run to Walgreens and pick up Miralax to take. Gosh I hope the worst is behind me!!!

So if this hasn't happened yet.. I recommend taking miralax now!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
