Requirements done!

Recommended Posts

I have finished the last of my requirements and as long as the psych gets his head out of his @ss and quits holding my eval hostage because he "forgot" to send me a bill-only billed insurance-then we should be submitting our packet to the insurance company Monday morning! I can't believe it! We're almost to the date scheduling! It's about to get really real!

What type of stress test did you have the echo and nuclear 4 hour or the 45 minute...?I was scheduled for the four hour test and my insurance denied it so I go for the 45 minute textures test ..no echo either...ugh...nervous

I didn't have to have any of that for the submit to insurance. He requires an EKG, various labs, and tests based on situation after approval from insurance. So now, I just wait for the Gods of insurance to grant or deny my request.

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited! I even told my mother-n-law. I'm actually glad I did, because she is being super supportive. I was surprised, but glad. I also found out another one of my friends is also having wls and she figured out my apparently not cryptic enough fun posts and asked me! So funny! We are all so afraid to tell people we are having wls and yet in my case at least, I would have had a lot more moral support if I had just told everyone.

I had to track down the psych first. He didn't bill me, but was holding my eval. hostage because I hadn't payed the bill he didn't send. What an @ss! The first time I called he hung up when I said my name. The second time it went to voicemail and he picked up the phone the moment said "I want to arrange your payment so we can move on". Like geez, hung up on me before but once he saw dollar signs he answered! Whatever! Bill paid and everything ready to go for Monday's insurance submission! :)

Congrats! So exciting, now the waiting game! And that psych is an ass, that is super unprofessional as well. Did you have to find your own psych or did the surgeons office recommend any? If they recommended you to him i'd tell your surgeons office about that! The place I'm going through recommended psychs, I went to the one they refer all of their patients to so he totally had a system down for the visit. My surgeons office is also apart of a city wide clinic with every different specialty so the psych I went to was part of the same clinic, so he couldn't have held back the info even if he wanted to.

they sort of recommended the psych but only because he rents space in their office. It's like a deal they have or something that he would do the evaluations for people in exchange for being allowed to rent the space, but I'm totally talking to the doctor about him when I see him next. The surgeon told me when I had my first appt that if I ever had a problem with ANYONE he wanted to know, so I'm definitely going to tell him about my experience. I told my NUT too because she and I have a great relationship and she gave me the name of another psych so if I need any aftercare I can see this other guy she recommended instead of dealing with the creepy jerk again.

So far, no word. I'm not entirely sure it's been submitted since no one has said anything, but I'm not ready to call and bug them if it has or hasn't yet. It's only been a day and I know I am antsy with anticipation, but ugggghhh wish I knew! I tried looking through aetna's patient portal, but I have no idea where to look for approval. I looked under claims and all that is listed was the psych so I'm guessing it probably isn't under that since it's not really a claim exactly yet just a request for approval.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
