I was Sexually Assaulted at the Obesity Good Bye Clinic

Sounds like you are taking this a little to personal; I understand why. Again I have the right to express my opinions; I truly am sorry that you don't feel that way.

@@Threetimesacharm,
You are right, you have a right to your opinion. In this case I guess I am a bit shocked and disappointed by your response.

In my opinion, The comment about her not knowing for sure who did it or what was done and that she should wait to hear back is extremely insensitive.

Clearly that must mean she shouldn't share her story. Goodness knows it could not happen to anyone else while she waits to hear back.

How in the world could you possibly know it is an isolated incident?!?!

Well, that is exactly how I was raped at 13, someone should have reported what happened to them and it clearly would not have happened to me. The person who raped me raped 3 young girls before me. Not one of them reported it until I did.

I won't apologize for my feelings or my response.

If true, this story is very tragic. I had my operation there and I enjoyed it and thought it was wonderful.

If true?? Really? Why would you question someone you don't even know when reporting something this tragic? I mean even if for some strange reason you are choosing not to believe her, why not just move on to another post? This is the exact reason people who are sexually abused do not report it. SMH....

FYI~ I did hear back from one of the patient coordinators.

As I understood it, security video is being reviewed. (But cameras don't go into patient rooms) I was also told they were testing ONE male employee for herpes.

It was nice to hear they were doing something to investigate.

However, the phone call did NOT go well. It was a clear reminder to me why people don't report these type things, or get upset and discouraged and just "let it go".

I appreciate all those that have been supportive to me. Everyone else is entitled to their opinion. BUT~ Why on earth would I subject myself to some of the comments that have been posted if I did not believe this to be 100% true. If I kept silent and this happened to someone else, I would feel responsible.

@ - Theresa I am glad you are not discouraged by some of the ridiculous comments. Just ignore them. And I am also glad they are doing something at the hospital but I am sorry the call went poorly. I applaud you for following through and being so brave in pursuing this! I have thought about you all last night and today since I read your post....

It's really sad when people comment on situations and they have no idea how it feels to be in that predicament. I'm sorry your under scrutiny for speaking out. I am very proud of you for doing so. The little girl in me that was always afraid to speak up feels pride from your voice. Don't be discouraged and continue therapy for self healing. It has taken me many years to come to terms with the abuse I lived through.

I don't know how I liked this or how I can take my like back but I truly didn't mean to like what you said and actually am very disgusted at what you said and will pray for you and I hope one day nothing happens to you or any of your kin and someone questions your authenticity , you are the reason many people that are sexually abused refrain from telling others, humble yourself

I am truly sorry to hear of your trials while in Mexico.

I do however feel that you should have let the hospital/co-ordinators respond to you first with what they will do about this situation before you brought this to us. You can't let one terrible persons actions in Mexico affect all travels to Mexico.

Unfortunately, considering your state after surgery, you really can't be sure what was done to you and by whom.

You first mentioned you booked with Bariatric Mexico and then you mention Bariatric Pal; these are two different co-ordinating groups.

I have travelled alone to Mexico 3 times and have had the utmost of care, professionalism and comfort all three times.

This screams of victim blaming, whether that was your intention or not. She clearly was assaulted and honestly, nothing they say can make up for the way she was treated and the abuse she's suffered. The is NO EXCUSE for sexual assault, and she had every right to post this far and wide without waiting for a cover up story response from their office/legal team.

To the OP - I am so so sorry this happened to you, no one deserves to be violated like that. I know that you are upset about your STD diagnosis (who wouldn't be?), but I know there are a lot of medicines out there that can make life easier and prevent outbreaks. I hope your husband is supportive of you.

I hope you have a successful recovery both physically and mentally.

Stop with the stupid drama and b.s. There's nothing wrong with what I posted. Unlike you I was showing compassion at the same time as saying that I don't know what actually happened. It's people like you that are ruining this thread.

There's nothing wrong with what I wrote. This thread is full of shrill harpies just waiting to attack anyone over the slightest of perceived offenses. A normal, sane person would know that my comment was showing compassion while at the same time saying I don't know what happened. Because the truth is that none of us knows what happened. I hope this woman is able to get the law involved. Otherwise, you and others here need to think twice before you start attacking people.

@, I am so sorry to read of your terrible experience. I wish you had gone ahead and gotten a gyn exam upon your return; even after showering there may have been internal evidence, both physical signs of vaginal trauma as well as possible DNA left. If the perpetrator gave you an STD he likely wasn't wearing a condom. But I can understand your thoughts and only wish you had that for your own case, not to prove anything to anyone here. I am glad to have read that at least they are testing someone for herpes; at least they seem to be taking it seriously. Please take care of yourself and try to rest up after this ordeal. I hope you have a lot of support at home.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
