I've never dreamed of food.

But I did have these weird dreams for the 1st week post-op.

I was living in a post-apocalyptic world and I was going through

some kind of test to see if I was smart enough to be part of some group of survivors.

Same dream night after night. Weird????!!!! :-)

That used to happen to me when I was dieting pre-sleeve. I think I was so stressed out from repeated failure that it turned into literal nightmares. At the core, I think it's an anxiety thing and is completely normal. Post-sleeve I haven't really had these dreams and I think it's because I am more sure of my ability to succeed.

Oh man, I had wet dreams about food for about a month after surgery. I would wake up, feverish with desire for pizza. I can still remember the dream of melty stretchy cheese pulling when the slice was slowly taken away from the pizza.

I would also see me grilling thick burgers, listening to the sizzle... then flash forward to me taking a huge bite that left my cheeks puffed out.

Thankfully they stopped after I got to chew something instead of just liquids and mashed foods. But man, it was weird. I felt like a 13 year old again, but instead of erotic dreams it was food dreams. I think that was when it truly hit me that I was addicted to food.

When I was still on liquids after surgery I had a very vivid dream about have the best steak of my life in NYC. Once I could eat food, I haven't had a food dream since.

This is funny! Last night I dreamed about eating Costco cake. It was so vivid...

It could have been worse, at least you weren't "spanking it" to a box of pancake batter with Aunt Jemima on it.

( I'll neither confirm nor deny that.)

That's a joke folks............or is it? :)

Hey now, she's a damn handsome woman!

I want a “three-way" with her and "Mrs. Butterworth". :)

I've had food dreams infrequently. Sometimes I dream I ate a giant cake, donuts, or some variety of bad for me bakery goods and I would wake up in a panic. It was mostly for the first few months after the sleeve procedure when I was extremely paranoid about eating anything bad for me. I don't believe I have had any dreams like that any time recently.

@@Aaron Solis Lol! Yes! And I was thrilled when I woke up and realized I didn't in fact eat a whole pie!

I wake up a lot feeling like I cheated on my diet the previous day then go wait a minute I was perfect yesterday, 8oz shake, 4oz lunch 4oz dinner sugar free pop. 3 weeks post surgery that's good to me!

Dreamed of going to my favorite Mexican restaurant and getting taquetos, enchilada, chile relleno with beans and rice topped with sour cream. Just me ordering and eating food. Woke up starving and disappointed that I couldn't actually eat it.

What takes the edge off for me is to watch some good food porn. Man vs food, diners/drive ins...etc.. I get to live through other people pile food in. It's therapy in a why, like escaping in a fantasy world.

I can't watch food shows they make me hungry

I have had food dreams since my surgery in July. Right after the surgery, I was dreaming of food binging almost every night. Donuts, tacos, cake - all of my favorites. I knew in the back of my mind (dream mind) that I had surgery and I wasn't supposed to be eating these foods or the amounts, but it didn't stop me. I mentioned this to my doctor when I had my two-week checkup and he had never heard of anyone have food dreams after surgery.

It's been almost eight weeks since my surgery and the dreams aren't as frequent, but I still have them. Saturday night, I dreamt that I was eating chips and queso.

When I quit smoking almost 10 years ago, I quit by using Chantix. Every night, I would have bizarre dreams (side effect of Chantix) and I would be chain smoking in every dream.

Personally, because of the chain-smoking dreams and the food dreams, I attribute these dreams to my addictions - nicotine and food. I think our minds must sense a cessation of what it likes and plays little tricks on us by using our dreams.
