Anyone else having surgery at a young age?

I am only 19 years old and will be turning 20 by the end of this month. I decided to have this surgery about a month and a half ago and I've already completed my pre-surgery checklist. I should be able to schedule my surgery within the next few weeks. I've noticed that when I research the sleeve and success stories, not many of the sleevers are young like me. Is anyone else having this surgery in their early 20's? It would be great to connect with some individuals who made this decision at a young age such as I am!

I am 29 and my surgery is Oct 7th. I previously had the lap band when I was 24 and that slipped and now i have major complications. I lost some weight on the band but nothing major, about 40 lbs. I wish I would have chosen the sleeve back then but I was too scared to change the anatomy of my stomach. Now I have a little 3 yr old that I want to live for and who I need to be active for. With my weight it is nearly impossible to run after her. Congrats to you on doing it early. I never did these forums before but I think I need to find support in others. I am so nervous but excited at the same time.

@@ms8 you made a great choice! anyone ive talked to has nothing but great results from the sleeve! heres to a new journey! and ive never done forums either, but i tried this week and it makes it easier so you can talk to people that are going thru the same things you are! its been really helping me get along!! wish you the best!

Hey there:)

I was banded at 19, and now at 24 I am in the process of sorting out plans to get sleeved!

Everyone I knew who had WLS all told me how lucky I was and how they wished they could of had this surgery at my age, too. You are making such a great decision, girl!

Thank you so much! Good luck with your surgery! ????
