I'm new and already had complications

I had gastric sleeve surgery on 8-19-15. I was so sick and weak and in so much pain by the time of my first follow up visit. Someone drove me to the appt. Office ran a Cat Scan and them readmitted me to the hospital fir a second surgery. Has this happened to anyone? I am so discouraged.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening to you. Complications have happened before, and unfortunately, you won't be the last one. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way from Kansas City.

Hi Dawn, wishing you a speedy recovery

I too was extremely weak for several weeks after my sleeve I about thought I'd never be normal again or be able to go back to work I had to force myself to drink drink drink eat what I could take vitamins try to walk around even if just in the house do some small exercise even if while sitting if u have light hand weights move your legs anything drink your protein shakes I don't know if u have any other medical issues I do it turned out I had really low potassium which made me go to the hospital with an AFib episode I had to get some meds adjusted and I was fine after that see your dr asap find out if there's an issue that can be fixed or adjusted

Did u have a leak ? I hope they are figuring out the problem and fixing it pls let us know how your doing sending positive thoughts and prayers for you

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and words. I am having hunger pains really bad. I just want to chew nibble on something. I bought some crazy flavors Maruchan ramon noodles. I am in love with the spicy lime shrimp and chipolte chicken. I couldnt help but eat a few noodles. Is that a really bad thing?

When can I nibble on Cheerios or something?

@@Whitney1968 Hi Whitney,

Are you home from the hospital? What was your 2nd surgery for? Do you visit with a nutritionist? You should have some guidance from your surgery team as to what your diet should consist of at stages of your recovery. I wouldn't think that ramen noodles nor Cheerios would be foods appropriate at this time. You should consult your nutritionist for guidance.

Yes, consult your surgeon before you do ANYTHING off your plan. For goodness sakes, you've already had complications! Are you looking for more?!

Yes, I'm home. My 2nd surgery was cuz I had a 'bowel obstruction'. I read that it happens in only 2% of patients. A different dr. had to perform that surgery since mine was out if town. I see my regular dr on Tues., sept 1st.

Yeah, I'm not going to chance foods I am craving until I talk to dr
