Hey Victoria! Great to have another Aussie in here! All the pounds talk does my non mathematical head in! I'm 2.5 weeks post op, lost 11kgs since starting prep diet. Energy levels fantastic, all healed. Tolerating purée with a few soft cheats thrown in. Back at work. I had so many doubts and fears pre- op. Now I'm so confident I've done the best thing for my future self!! Good luck and feel free to ask, check in or unleash here. You're with friends.

Hey gorgeous - looks like you are doing well!

I just had my final blood, operation in 2 days (eek) and in 30mins I am on Clear liquids only for the next week or so until I get all clear for all liquids/soft purees. Lost another 2.5kgs this week on pre-op diet, so just short of 5 kgs in 2 weeks....bring on the knife!

New blog up yesterday - have I missed anything to pack?

Hey E

So excited for you!!! Awesome your weight loss already - you're going to rock this!

You have packed over and above what you can possibly need so all covered I reckon. Wish I'd thought of the ear plugs and eye patch - the nurses came in every hour or two the first night.

Get off the push button for pain as soon as you can - it made me feel drowsy and sick and honestly oral painkillers were enough from day 2.

Good luck!!!!!!

So it's into soft diet today and what a relief!! Ate a high Protein weetbix with a bit of honey for Breakfast. Well 3/4 of it. Was at a conference today so took along a Protein Shake wrapped up in my handbag with an ice block in case the food was no good but! I ate half a mini muffin for morning tea, about 8 small forkfuls of risotto for lunch. And about 1/4 of grilled piece of fish for dinner. Yum yum yum. Still cannot believe I can survive and have plenty of energy on so little food. But it just goes to show, doesn't it! Have set an exercise routine yet, but already finding it easier to walk the stairs, take the longer route. Feeling fabulous!! No further weight loss but PMT ????

Smileygal - Feeling much better today! It has been a tough 10 days to say the very least!

My sister and I were both sleeved on the same day.

We move onto puréed stage on Thursday - cannot wait!

We have both lost quite a bit, myself 7kg and my sister 10kg.

Lizcan - size 14?! That's amazing! Congratulations!! How are you going eating wise?

3 1/2 months out and eating pretty much everything except processed carbs. Protein first then veg. I have not had any bread , rice or Pasta and probably won't as I like them too much! I did have a muffin the other day and didn't enjoy it. In fact I'm still trying to figure out what led me to eat it. What a head game this is!

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
