Getting sleeved on the 17th of August

I am looking to see some of the concerns others have that are getting surgery soon. I am so excited but also so worried about not being able to enjoy my food any more. Am I the only crazy one that is worried about this? I enjoy my pasta Sunday's and my snacks sometimes. Though, I am sick of carry this extra weight. So much going through my mind with just a few days left til surgery.

I also have surgery on the 17th and I too have worries about not being able to enjoy all the food I love. I am Chinese food fanatic and I'm gonna miss those buffets...but what gets me through it is knowing that me missing that is not nearly as strong as the desire I have to be healthier and slimmer. Just gotta spin a negative to a positive.

Surgery on the 17th for me as well, and I'm with Tinana on the Chinese food but but I take solace in the hopes of still enjoying egg drop Soup once I get to that phase.

I've done pretty well with the liquids, losing 6.5-ish pounds, but I'd say I still have a concern that I'll get in there for surgery and the surgeon will say my liver is too fatty and close me up again. I've worked so hard, I would hate to be turned away at that moment.

Ladies I defiantly agree. I am just afraid of not knowing what to really expect. I guess the fear of the unknown. Good luck on your journeys.

Honestly that is what I have come to love so much about this forum. If I start worrying about something I am usually able to come on here read some posts from others who have been through it and get some feedback and support.

Good luck to you as well!

Aduruz - I'm also having surgery on 8/17 :) While there are foods I may "miss" like bread, Pasta, rice, etc. the fear of not being here on this earth to enjoy any food at all is what drives me. I do not want to imagine a future where I am constantly uncomfortable walking, buying clothes, getting out of breath, feeling fatigued, etc. I want to ENJOY life more...get outside, walk, hike, and maybe even RUN! I don't want aching joints, knees, or feet to keep me from living.

Best of luck on 8/17!

Margie
