please forgive me :(

i've been keeping a secret from all you wonderful people

i had a FACE LIFT :o

June 25th (5.5 weeks ago!!)

i was soooo scared :(

i thought long and hard

back and forth before making this hard decision

if someone has a bad/looking? experience with a TT that is awful

but no needs to see the appearance of the tummy

if your face gets screwed up - you are stuck

(doctor told me a i would look like he PUNCHED) me in the face (a bunch of times )

would have had to buy a zillion paper bags !!!!

i've always had a "turkey" neck

wanted this surgery for a long time

didn't want to splurge with money

i thought i wasn't worthy

please don't yell - that's how i felt

having lost over 100 lbs, i decided the heck with it!!!!

"i'm worth it"

my PCP suggested a plastic surgeon

i met with him - he seemed good, very nice too

i then saw 2 others plastic surgeons

they seemed fine too (just as good)

since my doc recommended the first surgeon

i decided to go with him

i have a "pretty" good new looking body since my weight loss

i wanted to go all the way and fix my face too

the neck was the MAIN thing i wanted to get fixed

at 61 year YOUNG, i have some wrinkles too

few wrinkles gone would be a plus

told me i would look like he PUNCHED) me in the face (a bunch of times :D )

lots of black and blue marks

teeny one under my eye

most coloration was on the sides of my face

and behind my neck

not as bad as i expected

improving day by day, feeling a little better

didn't go out for about 3.5 weeks

didn't want to scare little kids at the grocery store :D

the first two days PO were very painful :(

i always have problems/with side effects from anesthesia :(

i act a little delusional after recovery room (upset, not knowing where i was)

yelling, bunch of stuff

hubby said i was talking weird

and i was talking sooo much (what else is new? )

doc said after 3 months of "settling"/face

he could do a "tweek" here or there if we decided

no extra charge of course

he does a little touch up sometimes

in his office with local anesthisa

don't know if i'll need it

at times i'll use my silly comment

"i'm cute as a button" ;) :D

now guess what

I'm CUTER than a button

I never regretted having the sleeve (no problems ever  )

now.........

i will never regret having the face lift

CONGRATS to ME

@@The Candidate

thanx lady

you are no slouch yourself

i continue to feel great

worth all the pain and nerves i went through :)

in my "other" life i would avoid any mirrors

didn't want to confirm that person was me :(

pretty sure others went through this too

now i stop at the mirrors sometimes at Kohl's since my weight loss

"check myself out" :o

want to make sure that the reflection is really me

now i look in the mirror and also check out my face! :)

even at home

really sounds vain i know :(

black and blues almost healed

great weight loss

take care my friend :)

kathy

CONGRATULATIONS! I really admire how brave you are, and you TOTALLY deserve to look the way you want to look, and feel the way you want to feel!

Congrats! I'm sure you look fantastic! As hard as you've worked, a little reward is awesome!

Honey go for it! Congratulations on doing something for "YOU"!!! if I had the dollars I would have lipo,a butt lift, tummy tuck and whatever else I wanted to have done.If you are happy then that's it....no judgements!

want to look, and feel the way you want to feel!

@@roundisashape

i agree ;)

thanx for writing

i saw my PCP this morning for PO check op

doc wasn't thrilled i was going to have a face lift

things can always go wrong with ANY surgery

plastic surgery is not necessary/elective

he was concerned about the outcome

(blood clots? stuff like that)

what if i do end up with 3 eyes, and 2 noses!! :(

he now sees how great i feel inside

when i go outside too :D

now he's very excited/happy for me

most of us say they will never regret having the sleeve (or whatever WLS) ;)

it was the best thing they ever did for themselves (me too)

now i'll add the face lift to my favorite things.........

i do look and feel great - head to toe!!! -_-:D

cute as a button, remember

thanx bud

that is how i feel

but i gotta admit i feel somewhat guilty for spending so much money on myself!!

i've never put myself on the front burner

(I know many others on the board haven't either) :o

I do feel judgement coming at me from the sides by people in my "normal" life

situation is one of MY problems i have to work/deal with

all my life i would sit/stay in the back of the bus

now sitting right up front, head and "face" held up high

kathy

little reward is awesome!

@@rp1980

thanx

they sure are

one of my OLD favorite rewards was a big peanut butter cup ice cream sundae with hot fudge, cherries, heath chips, more candy on top -_-

new favorite reward - manicure, and a movie :)

out with the old, in with the new

change is good

less caloric too

kathy

Wow! I just saw this thread (how did I miss it?)!

Congratulations to you, Kathy. I've considered a face lift myself. But I'll have to wait for another year to get serious about it.

I cannot wait to see your before/after pix of this.

So very proud of you. Wonderful decision on your part!
