from what I have read, it has the same possible dangers as lap band, i.e. adherence, lasts a certain length of time, is a foreign body in the body etc. other than that. Its relatively new and of course it can be removed.

I've watched the procedure on YouTube. Does not look pleasant! I'm pretty sure the balloon can only stay in for 6 months before it has to be removed.

The average weight loss after six months is somewhere around 14 lbs. Although the procedure isn't has severe has the gastric bypass or sleeve the results are dramatically different.
