In a wedding this Saturday, Can I have a drink?

Recommended Posts

Yes I am only 3 weeks post op..but my mom's wedding is this Saturday, I am not a big drinker but a wedding is one of those occasions where I like to have drinks with everyone.

Is it ok to have 1 or 2?

What is the best choice?

I want to do everything right but I don't want to stop living my life the way I want in the meantime.. eating healthy & losing weight is the goal but if I give up everything it will really get to me in a bad way :-/

I am not sure how a drink will affect me either though... obviously I would sip slow just in case!

If you feel you will...keep it smooth. No rot-gut like straight whiskey or bourbon....but something more creamy and gentle

Least that's my opinion (only)

Not sure I would drink alcohol at this point but I'm sure your Doctor would be the best person to ask. I know at 3 weeks out I probably couldn't have drank if I wanted to. I might have opted for a fruit juice or Water with lemon .

keep away from anything carbonated. you don't want to all of the sudden without warning spit up. my doctor didn't want me to drink alcohol at all but did at 6 mos. allow me to have my Christmas drink of bailey's . I suggest asking your doctor all doctor's are different. and sipping on a white wine may not be off their list.

Be very careful, I may knock you on your butt. I found I became a really cheap drunk after lapband.

I had one drink at a concert almost 2 months post op and it really dehydrates you too! I was in a really close, hot room but I needed to go get some Water shortly after I drank it because I started to feel faint. I realized afterwards "Why did I do this to myself for one drink?" So, now, I have had a glass of wine at home and that is all. It really does hit you hard so be careful.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
