starting again
Well I went to Mexico for my surgery so I got zero support but could of reached out more but I’m stubborn. I googled the 20,20,20 rule since I’ve never heard of it and I’m definitely going to try it! Good lunch with the food demons and hopefully you find enough support to get you where you need to be!

starting again
I was banded in 2016. Did great for a while then kinda slacked for about 6 months and have gained some weight. Was kinda looking for motivation on here but doesn’t seem to be many posting like there was when I first started. I was also thinking about taking a break from the band to give my body a break? Any thoughts??

Help Please
Thank you Gaylene. I haven't had a fill in about 6 months and never had a problem until after about 4 months. I don't feel like made it to green yet but now that I'm exercising consistently the weight is slowly coming off and if I eat slow and chew chew chew I can eat ALMOST anything. Help Please
Well....I didn't go back for several weeks because I didn't want him to unfill my band. So I continued to take Pepcid and the feeling got much better but still has not completely gone away. When I did go back I had lost weight and he didn't want to unfill me. So he put me on Carafate to see if it would help. It did but also made me nauseous and just yucky feeling so I stopped it. It's been another couple weeks since then. Still take Pepcid , and just have the feeling occasionally. Next step is partial unfill for a "rest" but I'm on a weight loss roll lol so I'm not going that route just yet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Help Please
Ok, so I'm not sure if this is a band problem but here goes..... I've been banded for a year this month. Not really tight and have the occasional stuck episode because of bad choices or not chewing properly. About 7-10 days ago I started feeling as tho something was stuck in my throat. For the first week I blamed it on the band because it's just what I have done for the past year when weird symptoms arise. But it's not anywhere near my band. It's in my throat. Not burning, not pain, just a full uncomfortable feeling that feels like I have food stuck in there constantly. Liquid passes by without restriction and food seems to as well. I'm clueless if this is something related to the band??? Making an appointment with a doctor but should I do primary care or surgeon. Any help would be appreciated. Cash pay?
I paid 3500.00 for everything in Tijuana. I flew into San Diego one day and had my surgery and flew out the next day. I had the lap band. I would do it again. I didn't have a single problem.

How did you choose your doctor?
I went to mexico because my insurance didn't cover the surgery. I knew several people that had used the surgeon I went to. I did my research and scheduled my appt.

How/What should I be eating in this stage?
My doctor prescribed an appetite suppressant to help until I got to the green. They never really worked before but really helped out this time.

Port Area Pain!
The port area is the biggest incision and also takes see longest to heal. I never had any pain but did have soreness around the port for a few weeks. I was also told that the body will try to reject the port because it's a foreign body so this could cause some pain, swelling and even a pus type discharge that you will probably think is an infection but it's completely normal. It took over a month for mine to stop draining and heal. My doctor was not concerned. Good luck.. Hope this helps some.

First Fill 5/28 still hungry
45678...nobody fills their own band! Not only is it very dangerous you will most likely be discharged from the doctor that you currently have. It's common practice for doctors to give 1ml fills... Or even smaller in some cases. Your not the only one that feels discouraged and impatient, we've all been there. You just need to realize this is a process and takes some time. You didn't gain the weight over night and you won't lose it that way either. Things will get better... Just give it time. Good luck ????

Newly banded 6/15
My doctor actually gave me ibuprofen for pain. I never needed anything more. I was never told not to take it.

In a wedding this Saturday, Can I have a drink?
Drink something that's not carbonated and you should be fine. My doctors advice.

February 2015 Bandsters --ANYONE?!?
I was banded on March 10th. I've lost around 28 pounds but really didn't start to feel any restriction until last week at my 2nd fill. I have 6cc in a 10cc band. I don't think I'm in the green but maybe I will be after my next fill. You look great so you obviously are doing something right!

Enjoying eating
I feel the same way... I'm so focused on taking small bites, chewing and trying to decided if it is ok to swallow. I'm so paranoid about getting stuck. I've only had good restriction since this past Friday when I got my second fill but I really hope this becomes second nature to me because eating is not a pleasurable experience right now.

1st week post op recipe
My mother is a dietician and I was starving and she told me that it would be OK to make some potato soup. Just boil the potatoes until the fall apart with a little water, milk and butter. It was a life saver!!
