I don't have an exact day yet, but getting closer. I have my endoscopy this Friday the 5th. Getting so excited I wish it was just over. Hopefully after my exercise learning class on the 8th maybe I'll get a date. Not sure when my Drs office does it. I'm in Ashland, ky. Dr Roderick Tompkins at KDMC

@@perk4756 depends on your insurance requirements unless you are self pay. after I completed the required BCBS Fed stuff I got approval letter in the mail and was in surgery within the next 30 days. I had to schedule a pre-surgery appointment. I opted to wait one week as well.

hello i am also expecting an august surgery. My last appointment with the dietician will be around the first week of august so I am hoping to have an August date for surgery. Still do not have a set date yet. two more appointments with dietician and a psyc eval left before info is submitted to insurance and i see the surgeon. Highest weight is 294 and current weight is 286, Goal weight would be 160.

Hi team (hopefully!) August!

I'm hoping for August, I see my Surgeon on Wednesday and IF I get approved by him we will set a date there and then his PA has indicated August is a possibility, however there is still hoops to jump through such as insurance after that (mine have a 10 day turn around of decision and only fund 40% but I need that or no go and i also have to get hold of the rest of the money from Savings overseas) and also a couple of Dietatition appointments etc.

I am so freaking nervous about 1) being accepted and approved by surgeon - then if that's ok 2 ) the horrible weight for the insurance company to approve or not :|

not sure my nerves can stand the waits! (I'm on the borderline for criteria) Anyway I just have to keep on hoping it will happen for me and I can be an August Sleever with all!

All the best for everyone's journeys!

I am scheduled for Surgery on August 7. I have completed all necessary requirements and met with the nutritionist, psych. Had an EGD and CAT scan. Purchased some Protein Shakes from Bariatric Eating Web site. I chose a whey Protein Drink that is strawberries & white chocolate. It was really good. 20 g Protein and sugar 3g per serving They have several other products that I would like to try. Price may be a little more than others but worth it if it tastes good. Trying to think ahead for the 2 week pre op diet that my surgeon has already given me. I live in Tampa, Fl. My surgeon will be Dr. Michael Murr at Tampa General.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
