wow -what a wonderful sounding recipe. I'm going to try your recipe! What is rotel? And is there any other spice added besides the hidden valley ranch powder? Like taco seasoning or anything? I'm a big avocado fan - so adding the avocado sealed it for me! I think I'll add some fresh cilantro too. thanks for sharing the recipe!

Life starts now - I do love the food in Hawaii! Mong chong is tied with salmon as my favorite fish to eat. I have only ever been able to find it in hawaii - although I'm sure expensive gourmet stores could get it - I consider it something to look forward to (with the produce) every couple years when I get to go. It used to be a rubbish / nuisance fish that would get caught on the long deep lines fisherman use to catch big tunas. They are a very deep fish with a tender but meaty texture but extremely mild flavor - best of all worlds!

TODAY:

B: 5.8 oz plain greek yogurt & 3/4 of a papaya

S: couple dragonfruit and tasters at costco (always a weird stop in hawaii - but love to get necessities there)

L: 2 slices deli turkey meat, 1 slice cheddar, 1/4 papaya, 1/3 cup black bean & papaya salsa w/ avocado

S: 1 mini apple banana, 2 handfuls oriental snack mix

D: 2.5 oz mong chong grilled & glazed, 1/3 papaya, 1 asparagus spear w/ a tsp of blue cheese dressing, 1/8 avocado

And I already know we're having flan for dessert - seriously enjoying the vacation in all aspects - but looking forward to the fill when I get back!

Hey everyone. I'm new here. I was banded on January 12, 2009 and just started eating solid foods a couple of days ago. I have found since eating solids that I have been hungrier.

B - Light Fat Free Apricot Mango yogurt

S - 3/4 ounce Tilamook cheese with 3 ritz crackers

L - 3/4 c. shephards pie

I also brought 3 ritz crackers and 1 ounce laughing cow cheese if I get hungry this afternoon and plan on having 3/4 c. shephards pie for dinner.

Do you all think that I am eating too much?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
