Who am I? Not Jean Valjean

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

My name is Jamie and I am new here. I read this forum a lot prior to surgery but never registered. Thank you all for being so helpful with such a huge decision!

I am 36 and married with no children. I have a high level position with a national catering company and have been event planning for over ten years.

I had my surgery on May 11th.

I am posting all over this board today because I really want to get involved and grow a strong community of support.

I decided to start making youtube videos to document my journey.

This is my first one that explains what is happening and why I decided to get the sleeve

Thanks for sharing your video. I really liked it. The airplane incident is one that I'm sure all of us can relate in some way.

Good luck on your journey. I look forward to more of your video posts!

I travel for work too and I always get so stressed if I can get a seatbelt extender or not. I flew 33 times last year and it was always so challenging to get one I really thought about taking one with me. Haha. Can you believe that's how bad it got? I'm thinking of stealing a seat belt extensor because I'm too big? I'm flying this week to Florida and already nervous about will I fit or not. I really like your honesty in this video. I look forward to seeing your updates! You will do amazing!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! This forum has been a lifesaver.

I do have a question. How much or how fast should you be drinking Water and your other fluids?

Congrats on your video. I enjoyed it. I also have used my weight as a crutch to indirectly protect myself. I had to pay a lot of therapists to be able to say that today lol I also am a professional and fly often. I've always been so uncomfortable on flights and was always centimeters from needing an extender. I was sleeved this past Thursday the 21st and am feeling much better than I was yesterday. Today I have figured out to pace myself and take small sips of the nectar Protein Shakes throughout the day. Pretty much always have a drink by your side and sip slowly.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
