Who am I? Not Jean Valjean

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone!

My name is Jamie and I am new here. I read this forum a lot prior to surgery but never registered. Thank you all for being so helpful with such a huge decision!

I am 36 and married with no children. I have a high level position with a national catering company and have been event planning for over ten years.

I had my surgery on May 11th.

I am posting all over this board today because I really want to get involved and grow a strong community of support.

I decided to start making youtube videos to document my journey.

This is my first one that explains what is happening and why I decided to get the sleeve

Thanks for sharing your video. I really liked it. The airplane incident is one that I'm sure all of us can relate in some way.

Good luck on your journey. I look forward to more of your video posts!

Thanks!

Great video I usually don't watch videos but your wonderful personality & smile pulled me in and I watched the whole thing. Great job and wishing you much success!

I travel for work too and I always get so stressed if I can get a seatbelt extender or not. I flew 33 times last year and it was always so challenging to get one I really thought about taking one with me. Haha. Can you believe that's how bad it got? I'm thinking of stealing a seat belt extensor because I'm too big? I'm flying this week to Florida and already nervous about will I fit or not. I really like your honesty in this video. I look forward to seeing your updates! You will do amazing!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! This forum has been a lifesaver.

I do have a question. How much or how fast should you be drinking Water and your other fluids?

Congrats on your video. I enjoyed it. I also have used my weight as a crutch to indirectly protect myself. I had to pay a lot of therapists to be able to say that today lol I also am a professional and fly often. I've always been so uncomfortable on flights and was always centimeters from needing an extender. I was sleeved this past Thursday the 21st and am feeling much better than I was yesterday. Today I have figured out to pace myself and take small sips of the nectar protein shakes throughout the day. Pretty much always have a drink by your side and sip slowly.

You guys! 14 days out and 14 pounds down!

Who's your daddy?

Congrats! Great 2nd video. You're doing fantastic and it just makes me more enthusiastic to have my own. Hopefully in the next couple of months.

Keep up the wonderful progress and thanks for sharing!

I love your videos!! Thank you so much!

You're adorable :)

You are beautiful inside and out. I absolutely hate the comment that surgery is the easy way or cheater way out. It absolutely is a lifetime commitment to change! I was amazed on the difference your shirt made on your appearance! You are so right! Not only do you look better but it increases self esteem to take care of yourself properly. Your videos are inspiring so keep them going ! You are awesome sauce !!!!! As far as liquids .... With working out you need a bare absolute minimum of 64oz a day of water. I hope you can get in more. The water and protein are going to help the healing process and the elasticity of the skin. My gym fun is Zumba and Mixxed Fit... I am so hooked that my next step is to become a Mixxed Fit instructor. Again keep the videos going.
