My sleeve was on 5/13. I think your feelings are normal. I have them too. I don't want to fail at this like I have ever other diet in my life. Thank God my family, friends and co workers have been 100% supportive. I don't know how anyone could go through all of this without support. Yesterday was a bit of a down day for me. One of

my incisions was bleeding a little and I was nauseous all day and couldn't eat much. I woke up today feeling much better. Gonna try and get out and about today. Good luck with your recovery. You'll do awesome!

@@kmagno I was sleeved on the 6th. I have been VERY blessed with no real issues so far~

This is a forever change in my mind. I have fought my weight most of my life. I am not looking to get to a size "0" or even a "6". I am looking forward to maybe a size10? What are your goals as far as weight loss?

I do have some concerns and I have already heard the "that was stupid why not have your mouth wired shut" response. It was MY call. I was never TOLD by any medical professional I needed to consider this for help. I looked around and thought to myself "do I want to be rolling around in a motorized cart, or having my husband having to take care of me (he is eight years older) in a few years because I can't?" Then there is my two grandsons, I want to be able to play and enjoy them for a long time.

I just made a post last week titled One Week+ Post Op if you can find it, you may find it useful. I was sleeved 5/6/15. And my concern now, to be honest, I still have the same desires to eat.......

I was sleeved on 5/11 and have been blessed with no complications. Lost 15 lbs to date. I have fears about eating new foods. My stomach is settling down but it still lets me know when I am drinking/ eating to fast.

I was sleeved on 5/5/2015- the first 2 weeks I struggled a lot with some emotional ties to mealtime- which made me think I was hungry. This week has been easier - I have been focusing on chewing gum when I think I need to chew, and getting more Water, and I feel more settled about not having a big meal. There is such a social aspect to meals in our family, and I started with the feeling that the social time was over, but now I see that isn't changing. I can have my broth just the same as I ate the meal before. I think it will all get much easier when actual food can be eaten. This is so hard, but will be so worth it - and after a couple weeks, I feel better about the decision. I'm down 18lbs now.

Hi,

I was sleeved on May 13th and have had no complications thus far. Is anyone struggling with their sweet tooth? If so, what have you tried to handle the craving? I got a juicer so that I can make fresh fruit and vegetables juice, Is this a good solution?

Also, Is anyone struggling with their skin, mine is super dry. Any body lotions recommendations?

Thanks for all of your replies. This group has been so much help. Tuesday will mark week 2 and I am down 17 pounds. I am definitely still learning how to eat and drink slowly. My stomach tell me when I'm not doing things right. My current challenge is the Vitamins. I k ow I need them but one Gummy chew has my stomach full. Is there any reason why we can't take gel caps or regular pills instead?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
