Tattoo's after you've lost all the weight

Recommended Posts

I have a fairly large tattoo that starts 1/4 of the way down my arm, covers my shoulder blade and ends on the top middle of my back. It is my daughters name, her feet and Lillie's surrounding. The tattoo is black and grey.

My question is, after your surgery and lbs that were shed off, what happened to your tattoo? If anything at all?

This is a great question. I'm 4 weeks out and have a 7 inch "Taz" holding a Alabama A on my shoulder. Had it done about 5 years ago and when I was 30 pounds lighter. I actually noticed this weekend that Taz didn't look fat anymore and that the red in the A had brightened up so much that it looks like it did the first 6 months I had it. My wife even agreed that it was deeper color and didn't look faded anymore.

I consulted my sister about this, she's a tattoo artist, and I have a few tattoos. She told me every tattoo is going to be different. Some are going to shrink and look new, like RammerJammer describes. More colorful, filled in. and some are going to sag with your skin depending on where they are at, and become misshapen or stretched out. My sister is already talking about the work she will have to do on me, and is advising me already to get one tattoo removed. We'll reassess once I've lost all the weight I am going to lose.

I'm so thankful my sister specializes in coverups, because I am counting on that to help in some instances. I'm not done with the tattoos I want either, so I look forward to more tattoos on different size skin in future!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
