Any sleevers scheduled for late July?

Hi there everyone,

I am new here and to this sleeve business! I am tentatively scheduled for late July, and I was wondering if anyone else here is roughly on the same timetable as I am. At this point, I am just getting my nutritional information together for the pre-op diet. i am both excited and scared. I know I can do this, but right now, I seems like a daunting task.

I'd love to hear how other pre-op sleevers are doing!

Thanks,

kbpaulie

YES, AYRW71! I get that all the time from my family. I've gone down 1.5 dress sizes in the past month (thanks to 1200 calorie diet & medication) and they want to know why I still want to have the surgery. Thank you for providing me with such an excellent response!

@@dena1258, and all others who have had their EGD (endoscopy). How did it go? How did you feel afterwards? Mine is scheduled for tomorrow and want to go out of town for the weekend--with my husband driving, of course. Did you feel okay, or did you just want to stay in bed?

thanks!

had a little bit of grogginess & sore throat for about 4 hours after the procedure but felt fine afterward.

The endoscopy is not a big deal at all. I've had 2 of them, one time they gave me oxygen with a nasal cannula, the other time they didn't. Guess it's up to the anesthesiologist. They'll start an IV, and give you medication, usually propofol, and you'll go off to sleep. It usually lasts about 15 minutes, and you'll wake up not even knowing anything happened. I never had a sore throat or anything. You can't drive that day since you had anesthesia, but you'll feel fine. For me the rest of the day was just like any other day. You'll be fine for the weekend-have a good time!

I've seen a brand called alive on Amazon. It's in liquid form. Anyone doing chewables?

Tuesday July 28th for me too! YEA!!!!!!! ;)

We'll have compare notes lol

Definitely, sounds good to me.

July 13th here????

@@haleylhs I just received my chewable vitamin from Opurity (same company that makes Unjury). Was super excited, all the reviews were positive and said it tasted better than Flintstones....oh boy. NOT. Super gross, almost choked chewing it. Plus it is HUGE! I was excited that it is a 'one-a-day', but no surprise since the thing is ginormous!!! I think it would fine to grind up in a smoothie, but no way I could chew this thing the first week after surgery. Going to try dissolving it in water tomorrow. But, needless to say, super disappointed. Guess I'll have to find something different at least for the first couple weeks---ugh. This stuff is too expensive for 'trial and error".

Looking forward to any vitamin suggestions!

I am July 28th.

Me too!! ????????
Me three ????

I'm scheduled for July 16th. I've completed all of my tests and my insurance has already approved the procedure. In the meantime, I read this board every day and keep doing everything that I can to educate myself.

I wasn't anticipating what an emotional journey this is. Fear, hope, excitement, relief, happiness - sometimes changing from hour to hour.

I'm so happy that I found this board. It's such a supportive, welcoming community and I have already learned so much from so many of you.

July 30th

July 21st is my big day!!

Hello 1st of July! Aaah!!!

July 7th here with Dr. Richard Ing at Bryn Mawr Hospital. In the second week of the liquid diet and losing a good bit of weight quickly. Don't sweat the pre-op diet. It def gets easier after a few days.
