May 19th Surgery scheduled...

Recommended Posts

After 6 long months of weighing in, my surgery is scheduled for May 19th... Anyone else out there going in on May 19th? I got the call today to schedule my remaining blood work. It's getting real! :)

My surgeon's office has a whole store of high Protein low fat low carb foods. We had to buy 14 days worth of food. It's 800 calories a day. It's been ok so far... I think the weekend will be tough because we have some parties to attend. So far during the week at work its been fairly easy to ignore what other people are eating.

I would LOVE some fruit right now!!!!! I had a horrible headache the first 2 days. I feel better now but still hard not having my fruits and veggies and CHEESE! Glad this part is only temporary and I can get back to my preferred Proteins after surgery.

I hear ya! I luckily didn't get a headache but I salivated over ever food I seen. I took a nap when it was too overwhelming! I'm glad I'm over the hump! Have you joined the May/June sleeves group on Facebook?

I haven't. I'm on one for people who go to the same doctor as me but I haven't looked for others yet.

It's nice. My doctors office doesn't have a huge online presence so I was looking for something! If you decide you want to join the lady is lessofjess and you can tell her your sleeve date and email and she will send you an invite to the group! Good luck to you!

I am having mine done on the 19th as well! I am now on a 1200 calorie 2 week diet. The weekend was quite tough following it but I am back on track now! Good Luck to you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
