My Surgery is on Thursday!

  • Popular Post

Thursday!! Today is Sunday. OMG! It has been a long, hard road with many hoops to jump through, and now, "suddenly", it's here! I am nearly there. I am nearly sleeved. I'm nearly having a difficult time with pain from a drain, and not able to drink a bottle of Water at one sitting. I'm nearly barely able to eat a tablespoon of greek yogurt at a sitting. My life is nearly changed for the better. One day soon I will be searching my closets for smaller clothes which I saved back from when I was smaller. I'm so excited to begin this journey to health and happiness, I am nearly able to polish my own toenails, to lace up my shoes. Nearly able to run up a flight of stairs and not be winded and keep up with my grand kids. It's Sunday...I'm nearly there!

I hate to say it but I was one of those ladies writhing in pain next to you. Of all my surgeries this one was by far the most painful. The nurses thought it was because the drain tube sat right under my diaphragm so every time I had to breathe it would rub on the drain tube creating pain. unfortunately since I'm a terrible IV stick I ended up with a central line as well. I'm trying to do the best I can with getting in my fluids which I'm getting about half right now. I'm staying on top of my pain medication so that I can keep moving around. I am thankful I have not had any nausea but my stomach does talk to me all day long LOL I'm glad to hear you're doing well I can't wait to get back feeling semi-normal!!

@@Joz31 so that was YOU! (kidding) I am sorry you had a tough time with that. It's over now...WE DID IT!! Now it's just a matter of healing and following the food plan to lose the weight and get healthy. The bumped me up again when I got there. I barely got my clothes off and they said...bumping you up again, can't get IV's in 2 patients so you are next! I was in my room before 11am. I didn't have enough time to even get nervous or worry. I got my clothes off, the IV in and next thing I knew I was in recovery. My pain level never got above a 6. I was one of the lucky ones!

Hello Sherrie congrats i just had my 1 month anniversary on 24th of this month! I remember how i felt? Before and now the weight is melting away. I now have found a great shake mix , not sure where you are at. But i use protein plus i get it at grocery store or walmart; i use the chocilate soymilk since we cant have dairy, and it goes in blender with some ice 25 grams of protein. And now a teaspoon of peanut butter taste just like a reese cup. So hang in there we are here to help let me know if you need anything. Sheila!
