Congratulations!\

Do you submit all of the data, or did your physician?

If you submitted the documentation, were there specific forms?

Thank YOu Bunny! I was feeling a bit invisable as no one responded.

I am overseas with American insurance. They have a very different system here. Not sure how I will go about this, but I will figure it out on my own I guess.

Thank You again!

So, question. I did a three month program specifically for diet and exercise at a facility. I have the paperwork that shows what I weighed at the beginning and at the end of that time, and recent weigh-ins at the Dr.s have shown that I have not gained all of it back. Most, but not all. Is that sufficient for Aetna do you think? Or will I still have to do the three month program? I have all the other clearances scheduled, just getting anxious about that one. Thoughts???

I'm with Aetna as well. From my understanding you have to provide a 2 year weight history as well as follow a doctor's supervised diet program for 3 months. I'm unsure if you're able to follow a program that's not your surgeon. During the 3 months, there can be no weight gain or you'll be denied. Not sure if this info is helpful.

The two year weight history is no longer required.

In my experience having my PCP document my need to lose weight over several consecutive years was a good thing. However, his letter to Aetna also needed to indicate the same. My BMI fluctuated between a 38 up to 41 at time of this process. I was approved with no problem. My WL surgeons office knew how to put all docs together to meet their approval and they made sure I followed their checklist . From what I see on this site, that's the biggest part. I even gained 3lbs during my weight management period but ended with a net loss of 1lb submitted to insurance. Try not to stress.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
