Mani mahi is my favorite fish. Great pan seared in lime juice with some onions and cilantro.

Hi Rosemary! I love Mahi too! Would love to make that. Have you been eating it now? Is it easily digestible?

Red37 I did have some and it stayed down great! Unfortunately in Indiana it is hard to find. My go to is Trader Joe's but it is 45 mins away. Next time I go I will stock up!

I live in Pendleton and work for Roche Diagnostics.

I'm waiting on my appeal for revision to bypass to be overturned. What's your story?

I originally had my band placed in 2008, I had some early success losing about 50 lbs but after the first two years I got tired of fighting it. I resorted to eating around it. For the next 4-5 years I did weight watchers and a bunch of other diets (blah) with some success but the weight always came back plus some.

My last straw was I went into my PCP last December and my weight was up to 263 (only 20 lbs shy of my pre band weight). I called that day and made an appointment with my surgeon. We discussed options and the RNY seemed the way to go.

I didn't have any trouble with insurance, after my 3 month supervised weight loss, they submitted on a Friday and I was approved on a Monday.

My surgeon is Dr. Ditslear at Community North. I absolutely love him and the team. They did my band as well.

Mine is Dr Jones in the same office

They are great! Jill their nurse is awesome. I call her all of the time and she is so knowledgeable and on top of things!

8 weeks post op (well 8 weeks and a day lol). Feeling pretty good. Down 41 lbs from highest weight. Eating better, getting all my protein and water in continues to be difficult but getting better. I have tried at least 10 different protein drink mixes and still haven't found one I can drink, they are all too sweet or just taste awful. Will keep trying to find the one I can tolerate but it's been a battle for sure. I'm working with a personal trainer at local gym 2 days a week and cardio on my own the other days. It was a rough start after my bypass but it does get easier.
