Does anyone know the cost of sleeve surgery if you end up paying out of pocket? Obviously, I'm looking for just a ballpark figure. Consultation in 2 weeks and I'm looking to avoid the 6 month wait time

My surgeon charges $14,500 for the sleeve (includes surgery, hospital fees, anesthesiologist, etc..).

Total for me with hospital stay and all was a little over $38,000. Insurance covered all but $1,000 for me.

I will not know how much it costs here in Kansas City till after 4/23. Once I see that bill I'll put it out there. Luckily for me I have UHC PPO and only have to meet $1,500 OOP for the year. I already met that with the EGD, and other side visits, CPAP monthly charges, etc. So my surgery will cost me $0.(and so will everything else this year!!!) But, I am really curious, myself, on how much the final cost will be.

Hospital fee, anesthesia and surgeon fee totaled about $20k for me. Those that have insurance that covers this surgery are very lucky!

My entire cost for the surgery itself was $12,300.00. The only other bill I received was from the lab for almost $300.00.

I paid $4500 to the surgeon and $6000 to the hospital and was told that would cover everything. I was only in the hospital one night (that was to cover up to 2) and had no complications.

I just received a bill today for another $24000.

WTC?
