I want one sooo bad...I just can't afford it right now w/all this pre-op stuff I've got going on. Once I get my claims back from my insurance, maybe I can put it towards my BB. Hmm...that's an idea.

You guys are making me jealous.

OK, I totally walked home from work today (I usually take the bus or a cab) -- 3 miles -- solely to see the numbers on my body bugg go up.

WOOHOO, what a motivator!

(Chimboree, most of us are really new to the BB. While you're saving up, tell yourself that you're waiting 3 or 4 weeks to make sure we're all still as enthusiastic about it once the novelty wears off. Does that help?)

LOL! That works for me.

*note to self* 'Yeah, that's what I'm doing ...waiting to see if the novelty wears off...'

I've had mine for 2 weeks now and my love has deepened! I'm understanding it better and able to maneuver more accurately through the program. (I've changed my goal three times LOL) anyway I haven't lost any weight yet, but i"ve increased my activity by about 75% from what I was doing so far, so my theory is that i'm putting on muscle and i'm NOT going to worry about the numbers on the scale just yet, this is amazing how much it motivates me to burn that last 200 calories each evening. I mean who ever thought or knew they had 200 calories left to burn before going to bed each night? so cooooooolllll

I've got to say, the Bugg did help me break my 2 month plateau. I was at 172 for 2 months. Mostly my fault -- I wasn't tracking cals in. Still getting a lot of exercise, but not maximizing it.

Anyway, today -- 4 days into the Bugg -- 167. PFOOY on the plateau! I'll show you who's boss! Wink.

This is a great thread! I love my Bodybugg (thanks to puddin' also). When I do what I'm supposed to and use this tool, it really works. (Hmm, sounds familiar...)

The combination of the band and the bugg are what help me.

When I set up everything on my BB it said I should be eating 1800 calories a day. So I increased the amount of weight per week and it said I should it 1500. I haven't had a session with a counselor yet, but this seems pretty high. I am exercising quite a bit. What is everyone's opinion? Also, any tricks for getting all the food into the journal. I guess it just takes time, but it seems a bit awkard. Feed back appreciated.

I don't focus on how many calories it says I should eat. My goal is to have a deficit of at least 1000 calories a day. If I get that, I am fine.

As for the food journal, it is a bit cumbersome at first. However, if you eat the same foods each week, once you've entered them (if they are not on BB's list) it gets easier.

Just a question:

Do you tell it how much you want to lose, by a certain date, and it will figure out the calories in/out you need to make that goal? Or does it figure out what you need to do for food/exercise to lose the 'healthy' rate of about 2 lbs a week, whether you want to lose that speed or not?

An update for any Canadians lurking here: I emailed BodyBugg again, and they told me it was made available to us as of yesterday, and the proper person will be contacting me soon to tell me how to order it. I don't know if the price will be the same. Even though I have a Mac, there IS a way to make it work... it's just kind of a pain in the butt. I still might go through with it.

Another thing though... the update that's coming at the end of August, I was told, will "include a device that will interact with the bodybugg, allowing a limited data display on a device similar to a wrist watch." I wonder how much more that would cost. It would be nice to be able to see immediate numbers of calories burned, at any time. I might just hold out and see what comes of this new thingy!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
