I was put on a Meal Replacement twice a day and small supper for three week in hopes I'd lose the last few pounds needed. My Dr is adamant that all of pre op recommended weight loss is lost so my PA recommended this. I go in on March 6th to meet Dr and do my testing, so well see if she has me on a complete liquid diet for two weeks after that! I'm so excited but nervous at the same time. I think mainly about the weight loss before hand. Praying to god I see 252 on that scale on the 6th! I'd love to stay in touch since we have such close dates. It would be great to be able to share experience with someone else. I'm having RNY.

Wow that must have been quite the adjustment to make.

I hope you are able to reach that goal for your appointment.

I agree we should keep in touch those of us with dates so close together!

My surgery date is March 26 too! When do you start your liquid diet?

I'm not sure! My final appt for testing and with the dr is march 6th. Do you know when you start yours? I'm currently already replacing two meals a day with body fortress Protein Shakes. So adding in another for super shouldn't be too hard but we will see. Ive stocked up on sugar free Jello and crystal lite already and that helps me get thru the first two meals

My surgeon said to start the all liquid diet 2 weeks before, so will start on March 12. Sounds like you are really ready. I have been doing one Premier Protein shake for Breakfast but regular meals and Snacks for lunch and dinner. Definitely need to get more sugar-free Jello. That is a lifesaver!!

I start my all liquid diet March 5th. I just stocked up on gum hoping that will help. You guys are finding Jello helpful?! Maybe I'll give that a go! I've also been thinking of juicing some fruit and making a diluted ice slushy thing with it for a change in consistency. Is anyone planning a 'last dinner'? My coworkers are taking me out for Indian food

No last dinner here. I'd probably eat too much and try to convince myself that it was fine. Jello seems to help. Ive got the labels taped to the inside of snack cupboard so I'm constantly reminded when I'm tempted to give in. I'm not supposed to chew gum per Dr's orders after surgery but it helps to have it right now to keep my mouth busy. I also have games (mainly solitaire) on my phone and tablet and play those to keep my mind off of things and also when I feel hungry and tempted. So far it has helped.

Ack I should call and ask my program about the gum! I foolishly assumed!

I've been stockpiling books, knitting and movies for both pre and post op. I think you're on to something with the distraction. I'd been wanting to go away on a trip for the first week of the liquid diet to help distract, but it's landed just as I've had to get my passport renewed!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
