I am about 10 weeks post-op. I am really having problems with lightheadedness. This occurs more in the afternoon and evening than in the morning. If I am lying down or even sitting then stand up I start to feel dizzy and have to stop and brace myself on something, sometimes putting my head down, in order to not feel like I'm going to pass out. It passes quickly but worries me a lot because I don't want to take a fall and hurt myself. I do not know if this is due to dehydration, lack of Protein, blood pressure, blood sugar drop, or what. Has anybody else experienced this? Any ideas what might be causing it?

Strange? I am three months post op and I have been feeling the same way on and off for two weeks now. Usually happens in the afternoon but not everyday. Yesterday I was walking into my sons bedroom and fell against the wall. I thought it was strange because I haven't felt that way since surgery. I am hypoglycemic so I am wondering if I am having issues. ????

From what I have read Reactive hypoglycemia is something to be aware of.

If you have High blood pressure this is a sign that your blood pressure is low. You should consult with your physician to have it checked. It could be that your meds are too strong or that you don't need them at all. It could also be low blood sugar, again something you should see your physician about.

After reading others' answers and thinking about the fact that I was suffering from the lightheadedness in the afternoons and evenings and I took my BP med in the morning, I decided to try going off of it altogether. I immediately stopped the lightheadedness. I saw the doctor and we are monitoring my BP to see if I need a lower dosage or perhaps none at all. Thanks for the replies.

Doc just took me off the Meds...My Blood Pressure was way to low and they were surpized I

did not faint...The Water saved me.....Because I drink so much water I was able to prevent

the fainting......If you have the surgery....You got to have you PCP review your meds....

I'm lightheaded and feel like fainting too when I stand up.

What helps is when laying down I first sit for a bit then stand.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
