Amiller10 I also had my surgery on the 16th. Basically everything you said is exactly how I am feeling. Good to know there are others going through similar experience. Good luck!!

You guys will think I'm nuts saying this...but I'm 3 weeks post op. I'm not hungry at all, but all the food on the commercials looks so good! I had to go into town last week to buy a pizza for my son and his girlfriend. So I went thru McDonald's and got a $1 cheeseburger, chewed it up and would spit it back out in the sack. It's not the food I want but the texture and the taste that I miss so much! I had to laugh and told my husband after I got home, that was the best $1.08 i've ever spent! HA! And I felt great knowing all I did was chew it and not actually ingest it!

Not nuts at all. ????. I might be doing crazier things at 3 weeks. I do miss the idea of food even though I am not hungry.

@@arigold I did not have a pre op liquid diet either (except for the day before surgery). I tried not to go crazy eating all my favorites before surgery, focused on cutting down my coffee consumption, getting lots of Water in, and eating smaller portions. I also had Protein shakes every day for Breakfast so I could find ones that I liked. Best of luck to you!!!

To the OP, I did not have that problem pre op, but post op I hid in my bedroom upstairs every night for 2 weeks while my family ate dinner! I haven't allowed real pizza in the house yet!

I too loved pizza before my sleeve. In fact we had quite a long, torrid romance! But after surgery I tried a lil hook up and it did not go so well. We had a fight, pizza won and we are now forever broke up. I can't tolerate his shenanigans anymore. Just know after your sleeve you may feel the same way and it may not be as hard to say no :)

All these ladies are correct! The desire and need does subside some after surgery. I love pizza! Still do! But all the bread hits me like a ton of bricks! I make my own version with a cheese crust and it's amazing and so satisfying! It's a hard thing to be left out but I promise, it gets easier.

This may be old news on this thread, but here are two recipes for no-carb pizza. Haven't tried them, but others say they're delicious!

Mix: 2 cups fine grated cauliflower, 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese, and 2 eggs. Mix and press in a parchment paper lined 10 inch. pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes or until brownish on top. Let stand for 10 min then add pizza toppings. Pop in the oven for another 5 or so min. until cheese bubbles. .

Ugh. I can tell I've come a long way from my pre-op daily-pizza-eating ways when I can look at that picture and be disgusted by all the grease instead of wanting to eat it!

I am 4 weeks out. Crazy bed pizza too first thing I ate on pureed was a low fat mazzerella and Marinara sauce 1 egg omelet. It helped curb those cravings even though I could only eat half of it.

I am so excited for puréed stage I can't wait to munch down on some eggs (x

Oh yeah you rock buddy!!!!!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
