Need advice please

I am a year and a half post op. I have lost almost 60 lbs. I take 12+ scripts a day and have a dozen or more chronic conditions. I have no regret in my decision for lapband. But since 6 months post op I have been losing what little hair I had. I need to have ideas on how I can get more protein in my diet that aren't too complex...on a low budget...a deep depression and can't make myself eat much. I have only 3 cc in my band. So if you can help...Tia

I was losing my hair as well and started taking Biotin and drinking powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury every day per my surgeon's advice. That added about 20 additional grams of Protein. Between the Biotin and the Unjury, my hair did eventually come back. Biotin is over the counter and not very expensive. If you buy the big containers of Unjury rather than individual packets, the price is pretty reasonable.

Thx for your suggestions...I have pdr. I haven't tried unsure but will look into it. I did make a cake yesterday...box mix added 2 scoops vanilla protein pdr (27 g) added applesauce instead of oil and with eggs it was full of protein. But I don't make cakes very often actually years but I worked that one out. I have been going on bariatricpal to get ideas. Made protein balls but not real tasty. Any other ideas would be great when you come across any. Tia

Hi Tia, be sure to keep all your appointment for Followup and maybe see the nutritionist while you're at it -- they may have some good suggestions. I took biotin, too, and still had some minor hair loss that had me worrying for a little while. Some one mentioned this may have to do with anasthesia at the time of surgery (the loss comes later 4-6 months). Interesting theory -- I have no idea. Also many medications have hair loss as a side effect. As you get healthier hopefully you will be able to get rid of some of your prescriptions. Make sure your band is working well for you -- put those medical professionals to work! And good luck with all. So glad you're here.
