Does anyone have small / hard to find veins?

I've been wondering if this has an effect at all?

My veins are impossible to find - they couldn't get my blood sample in pre-assessment and I have to go back tomorrow to try again.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have my surgery booked for this Saturday.

I'm worried about them not being able to get an IV in or something.

I am a very hard poke... I had to have a port put in.. Kinda ugly to look at every day and I have to have it cleaned every week but it's a life saver for me to get iv fluids
