Questions for those who went to Mexico.

Hello all! I leave on Wednesday and my surgery is on Friday. I am flying into San Diego and then will go to Tijuana. I'm working on packing and then got stumped on rules for the airport and border patrol. Do I need to take all the vitamins I'm taking with me or can I just take them in a weekly pill box? Not sure if you have to have the labeled containers they come in or not. Also the same thing for my protein powder. Can I just put some in a Baggie or do I have to bring the whole container? Any insight would be awesome!

I took all my pills in a small, unlabeled container. Took several small baggies with protein powder in them. Coming back I had those things plus the meds that were dispensed by my surgeon, some extra sublingual NSAIDS I purchased at a local pharmacy, and decaf tea bags I bought at Walmart. I even had 2 large bottles of pedialyte that they let though airport security once I explained my surgery. No one even looked at my luggage crossing the border.

Honestly I would not even bother with bringing sooo much stuff. I literally bought clothes went to GNC bought one packet of lean 25 Protein and any pills just place in the clear zip lock bag they required. they don't do a bag check while coming in or out of Mexico in most cases. I guess I just recommend packing realistically. Then again I went alone. I did not even use half the stuff I bought and realized I could of just bought it while in mexico used it while in mexico and had less to carry. Good luck with surgery!
