    Constipation

I'm finally regular and after a lot of trials of milk if mag, smooth move tea, dulcolax etc..... I found my combo for my body. I take 2 colace stool softener twice a day and benefiber twice a day. You'll find that everyone's body is a bit different and responds (or doesn't respond) to remedies. Just need to do the trial and error until you find the right fit for you.

Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)

Hey everyone! I just got my results for my 3 month labs and they are looking awesome! My protein, b, etc...are all normal and my A1c is downtown 5.5!!!!! Only wacky thing was my thyroid is a little hyper but just barely so we will recheck in 6 weeks. So happy with this decision and down 56 pounds so far!
  3. Oh my gosh! These recipes sound so good I might have to dust my kitchen off and try some this weekend

    Isopure drinks

I love the grape. Buy it by the case. They are different for everyone. My boyfriend hates the grape and loves the pineapple one. I couldn't even get myself to swallow that one. Lol.

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

I haven't done a pouch test either. I've seen people talk about but don't quite understand the why part of it but I'm still new at this. I had mine done in Mexico too but with dr Ariel Ortiz. It was an awesome experience. You meet a lot of great people from all over.

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

It's been great I'm done 50 pounds so far. Sitting at a stall right now which is very frustrating though. Who is doing your surgery?

    I Want a Drink!

I waited about 3 months for my first drink and had it with my friends so if I did not go well they would take care of me (we are all nurses). I mixed some flavored vodka with my vitamin zero water. It was probably weaker then a pre surgery drink but it was yummy. I had three of them and not even a buzz. I made sure I ate some good protein before hand so I wouldn't be tempted to snack on all the goodies surrounding me too. All went well

    Ladies! Pain Levels post-op

Nothing like my c section. I had some gas discomfort that gas x took care of and after my first day back to work (5 days post op) I had muscle soreness but tylenol took care of that.

Alcohol - effects and wait time

I've drank once since surgery but I'm only a few months out. It was a couple of weeks ago and I had some vodka mixed with my vitamin zero water. I had a couple drinks and didn't even get buzzed. I was probably really light on the vodka because I was worried how I would react but it was no biggie.
  12. I'm a RN on a busy hospital unit so lots of running etc.. For 12-13 hour shifts. I had my surgery on a Friday and went back to work on Wednesday. The girls I work with helped me with my lifting the first couple shifts then I was good after that. I was sore like I did a good workout after the second day but I was fine.
  13. Whoo Hoo! After I stalled at 200.4 for a while and I stepped on the scale this morning with fingers crossed and....198.4!!!! So happy. I haven't seen onderland in 13 years!!!
  14. I drink isopure, vitamin zero water and propel. Loved plain water before hand but not so much after.

    Finally! Onederland!

Thanks everyone. I'm down 42 so far.
  16. I had the same issue. I had to stay a little longer because of it. I think My issue was the toradol. Every time they gave it to me in my IV I started vomiting. It was dark red too. I am a huge weenie with meds.
  17. I used carbmaster from Fred Meyers. It's their own brand and really low carb. My NUT told me to thin them down during my full liquid but I just had them straight. They are yummy if you have a Fred Meyer near you.

    need good scale suggestions

That's a bummer. The only other one I've used is the one at my nutritionist. I'm a pretty slow loser so it made me feel better when I saw I lost 3% bodyfat. If your not shy you could always try them out at the store before you buy. . I've seen people in Target doing that.

    need good scale suggestions

I just bought a new scale because my NUT wanted me to track percent body fat instead of pounds. It's the withings scale. It's super cool! It measures my weight, percent body fat, heart rate and bluetooths it all to my phone! It's like a new toy! Lol!

    period during surgery

Did they give you the reason behind stopping? I brought mine with me and they said it was fine for me to take.

    Thanks everyone!!

    period during surgery

Mine was scheduled right at the same time as Mother Nature so I skipped my placebo pill that week thinking I would skip that month. Well hormones go crazy after surgery and I ended up starting on the day I flew home and it went on for THREE WEEKS! Weird things happen but it's no biggie. Just let the nurse know and she will make sure you have what you need.

    Starting over 3.5 weeks out.

PPI is a proton pump inhibitor like protonix, Prilosec, etc... Constipation had been the worst part of this journey so far. I have tried a whole list of stuff too. The smooth move tea had me up all night cramping with no results. Uugh! It's a whole trial to see what your body likes. I think I am finally starting to figure mine out. I'm taking colace twice a day and occasionally a shot of milk of mag. So scared to go back to feeling like I was giving birth. Lol. Oh and I think my stall might be over. Lost a couple pounds when I checked this morning! Hopefully my scale isn't teasing me lol.

Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)

Hi everyone from WA! I've been a RN for almost 9 years now. I started in oncology/medical then we switched to acute care. I just finished all my training and certification to insert PICC lines (super exciting). I'm also finishing up my BSN now too. I was sleeved in TJ, Mexico 5 weeks ago by Dr Ariel Ortiz. Did my surgery on a Friday and returned to work on Wednesday. The ladies I work with were super supportive and made sure I did no lifting that week. I haven't had any complications from surgery any the only issue I really deal with is constipation. I'm down 34 pounds so far and am currently in my first very frustrating stall. I feel awesome and so energetic. This is the best thing I have ever done got myself!
