Good afternoon everybody. I know this week I've been posting first thing in the morning but it's been a crazy morning had a crazy night last night. Before I continue I want to tell you I'm okay. I fell on the ice last night down the stairs at my sons friends house. I spend the night icing my legs and I have a couple of lines and big black and blues in my Hiney from the steps.

That's in the past

Today I am on track with my foods.

I am on track with my steps.

I have already been to the gym.

You can't keep a good woman down.

Well I got 20 minutes on the elliptical machine right before dinner. With that I did 200 step ups and 1 hour walking at work today. My meals were small. I probably ate one bite too many for dinner. I had chicken bites smothered in hot sauce. Got well over 100 oz Water. I think my pouch is gonna be ok after 4 years of abuse. I mentioned in another thread but I will mention it here as well. I am a binge eater. It has been 1 week since my last binge. Very thankful for the victory. I have been praying for power in this fight. The Lord is so good!

Good morning all.

Yesterday was not bad.

Foods 1700 because I went to a diner with my family for dinner. I did not want to go but they won.

Steps on track 11600 steps

No eating after 8:05. Once I realized it was 8:00 is stopped all eating. Coo tos to me. I did not finish my dinner because of the time. I did not need it anyway.

My nutrition was right on track. 40% carbs, 30%fats, and 30% protien.

I tried 3 new things yesterday. Brussels sprouts. Yummmmm. And spaghetti squash and butter nut squash that I cooked but did not try yet. I'll do that today.

Today I'm taking hubby to gym with me.

HAPPY VALENTINES EVERYONE

Happy Valentine's DAY! Love yourself and others today! We have flowers to take to Mom and Aunt Liz! When you are 90 plus it makes getting flowers soooo special! Giving love makes me feel so special all the way through. Finishing up the little treat boxes for the grand kids and need to deliver them. Had a spot of raw honey in my coffee this am! Having a heart shaped egg in the hole for hubby and me for Breakfast. A nice fresh strawberry salad and cup of Soup for lunch. dinner on way to hospital to visit Mom. Goal of elliptical on my list too ... it may be the long walk from parking garage if time is short but it counts! Big hospital and parking on outer end can be a sprint! :D

Heeeeey ya'll;) Happy VDay to everyone!

Well I made it through two kiddos valentine parties with no candy, ice cream or Cookies. I even bought cookies for my office at my favorite bakery and walked out WITHOUT their famous cake, that was a first so I'm pretty proud of myself!

On a slacking note not doing good with the exercise I knew this was going to be my biggest strugle so I'm going to start a calendar to count down the days till summer.

Doing great on calories and Water this week.

Just need to get myself moving. Today is cleaning day so that will count for today;).

Hey, everybody!! Glad to hear neither if you have been hurt falling on ice. That's scary stuff! I fell on ice about 15 years ago, broke my leg and ankle, 8 surgeries, and a LONG nightmare. It gives me the willies thinking about you guys falling.

All is well here. Had a major victory myself yesterday. DH walked in with leftover food porn (won't post so I don't trigger anybody & cause them to stumble) from his office. I didn't touch it. Not gonna touch it.

I made a low sugar/low fat sweet treat for us today, logged today's food plan into my fitness pal, and will rock & roll. I'm working on my first tumbler if Water and will get it all in today. Like some of you, exercise is my struggle. I've gotten in 5 walking miles each day for the last few days and I'd like to keep it up. I'll do at least three today and would ask you all to hold me to it. I'll report back in when it's done.

Keep working the plan. Keep celebrating the victories, regardless of how big or small. I love your encouragement and enthusiasm!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I'm having a fantastic day. And just like you said sticking to the program. I am on track with calories Water I've been to the gym and I've almost hit 10,000 steps for the day so far. My biggest accomplishment for today is that I just sat here watching my husband eating organic Peanut Butter cups and chocolate covered organic pretzels and as much as he kept them between us to share I did not have a single one. I will however have dessert later Ron with my two kids and my husband after a romantic dinner for the four of us.

I just wad to check in this evening. All went well today. Small meals on target today at work. Plenty of fluids. Exercise went pretty well. 200 step ups and 45 minutes of walking at work throughout the day. Got home and got 30 minutes on the elipti-kill.. Getting the work done!! The commander made us a good Valentines day dinner while our kiddos were passed out on the couch. Pork tenderloin and green Beans.

BIG NEWS BIG NEWS

I decided today that on June 27 this year, I am going to participate in my first 5k! It is a walk run in Dayton OH hosted by our minor league baseball team. I am going to need plenty of accountability!

LETS GET IT DONE!!

2babutterfly - I'm gonna try to find that Jerky. Thanks for sharing!!

bacon - way to go on committing to do a 5k!! I walked one a few years ago and was glad I could check that off my to-do list. ;)

nailpro - victory on not sharing those snacks! glad it's been a great day!

I've eaten OP, even fixed a FF/SF dessert for my valentines and it was good. I love not having any guilt when I put it into my fitness pal and stay in my caloric range. Win!!

For accountability, just completed the 3 mile walk I committed to earlier today. Making it happen!!

Have a splendid evening!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
